I was thoroughly impressed by the afternoon tea at this restaurant. The selection included a wide variety of freshly made sandwiches, quiche, sausage rolls, and mozzarella sticks, followed by a generous fruit scone, lemon drizzle cake, rocky road, carrot cake, and a delicious profiterole. The amount of food provided was unbelievable, all of good quality and very tasty. Despite not being able to finish the tea, we wer... View all feedback.
What Cath H doesn't like about Blue Bell Inn:
A group of 35 people booked for a Christmas Party at this restaurant. The food was just average and we were disappointed to find out that the bar closed at 9:30 with no prior warning. View all feedback.
Having booked for the meal we was informed that there was only two time slots left but we experienced that there was only 3 tables occupied during the whole evening, so a bit confused about that one. Ordered our main meals and waited over 45 minutes for them to arrive which was a bit of a joke with the amount of people in there. The fish and chips meal was ok but the chips being triple cooked we’re on the verge of being burnt. The chicken meal was also a bit tough but edible. We decided to have a dessert and all I can say is don’t go for the apple pie as the portion which is supposed to be a large one was pathetic for the price. The sticky toffee pudding was very nice though and twice the size of the a-pole pie. We have decided not to go there anymore as there are other restaurants in the village and surrounding area that does better than this. Came away some what dissatisfied but hey ho.
An ok local pub but not family friendly. No changing facilities for babies or toddlers and very sexist too as only women can change nappies which is on a small section next to the sinks covered in water under a hand dryer. Not good at all. When asked staff about changing facilities was told they haven’t got anything yet. Pub has been run by same owners for years so not sure when this ‘yet’ actually is. Disappointing to say the least and a but disgusted really for a local village pub.
The Bluebell has really got outdoor hospitality sorted. Even the bar is outside. Plenty of pod seating so if the weather changes, you're covered, literally. Table and menu were sanitised when we arrived, and we were asked to scan the QR code. There were plenty of waiting staff, who were all wearing masks. Drinks arrived promptly and the food was good. I thoroughly recommend.
