Love this place. I work down the street and gave it a try, ordered the garlic chicken lunch. Great portions for great price. $11 ate half for lunch then took the rest home for dinner. View all feedback.
What Fanfoot doesn't like about Hunan Village:
Tried the Szechuan Prawns (tons of dough), Hunan Prawns (meh), House Special Fried Rice (okay at best), Hong Kong Style Crispy Noodle (sauced dish in a separate container from noodles which is good, but very one note flavor wise which is weird), Twice Cooked Pork (not tasty). I think that's enough take out to judge this place by. Not like we have a lot of great options in Petaluma for this sort of food, but this is a... View all feedback.
I will not be going back. Tonight the food was cold not even warm. The waiter walks back and forth like you are going to take something. I told to girl that the food was not good it was cold not even warm. She just laughed and walk away and give us the bill. Every poor severs.
The quality of the food here is so good! I recently had lunch with soup, rice, and a dish with colorful fresh and not overcooked vegies for $11.50.
The best Chinese food and service I've ever had! Vegis were very fresh!
I asked the waiter if my Szechuan chicken came with vegetable, and he said no; it came with broccoli when served. Then I asked for it to be extra spicy because the menu says it’s spicy already; it came, and it was sweet. I should have just looked at the website to see the pictures of the food to better understand the dishes because the waiter was not accurate on the dishes I asked about. Even though my dish was sweet, it still was not flavorful at all. The service was very poor, because the waiter never even checked in with me to make sure everything was OK.I haven’t eaten at Hunan Village for a very long time and I’m sad to say I won’t be back.
The hot and sour soup is the best in town! Unlike any hot and sour soup I’ve had before, it is incredibly flavorful but feels light. This is a “no shortcuts” homemade chicken bone broth and ginger recipe.
