We stayed in a hotel nearby and walked over to this area. There were restaurants to choose from. We chose Hippopotamus...it was a good choice. What Zoé Marchal doesn't like about Hippopotamus:
Ate here on the evening of February with my wife. The flank steak was OK (not as good as I have had in the USA) but edible. The profiterole desert is definitely recommended (see photo). The service was very good and our waitress spoke...some English which was helpful View all feedback.
The flesh we had was terrible. we showed the manager and told him that the meat was very bad. unfortunately he said, but no refund had to be paid for 2 faux filet the full € 49.80. just a scandal!
This restaurant is a chain. so know what they can expect too many people for too many waiters. standard food. but still eating was better than expected. they have beautiful Bordeaux wines on the menu there is a better rating than expected
We stayed in the Holiday in hotel, just in front, and took our dinner here. Steak, French Fries and salad, tasty, juicy and tender. 4/5

We entered about 2045, were greeted rapidly and a table for 2 was found. The restaurant was packed. We...ordered and had a Hippo Alcohol, 2 steak Hache Oeuf and a banana split for dessert. Our waiter (Brian) was very attentive, even as busy as he was. Food reminded us of a stateside steakhouse, it was a good meal and service was very good.
