We ordered cod croquettes as starter. There were five pieces. Midway in the second bite we realised they were frozen in the middle so we left two croquettes half eaten. We told the staff, who took away the half-eaten croquettes and the remaining three coquettes, and brought the latter three but thankfully defrosted this time. There was no apology, and they did not give us a new 5-piece portion. Not the right attitude for someone who served half-frozen croquettes. And charged us for it. Also my main, which was roast cod, was cold in the middle. On the plus side, the main courses had generous portions and were well served.

I ordered the breaded codfish and it was inedible. There were 5-6 bones in every bite and the breaded crust was also littered with bones. They took it away but still kept the charge at the end of the meal. Prices are very high for this poor quality and service.

We spent 16 days in Portugal from June 5 June 20, 2023 and the dinner at Locomotiva was my most memorable meal. We ate at two Michelin one star restaurants in Portugal and the food at Locomotiva was the best. The veal steak was outstanding. Best veal that I've ever had. The Douro Valley wine that the waiter recommended was excellent at a very good value. I'd go back there again and again.
