This restaurant is rather well known in the area; artists often come from the nearby Rossini theater, to dine here. We were with two friends, who knew the manager…so maybe we got some discount vs the “usual” price. Anyway: the service was efficient and the staff, kind; they changed our forks and knives after every course, which is unusual in medium-priced restaurants. The excellent food included: mixed seafood starters (try the shrimps with herbs, they are very peculiar! , perfectly cooked spaghetti, a very large “spigola” (fish , with such a taste, it must have been just fished from the wild (I mean, it had neither been frozen nor artificially fed . At the end, a selection of desserts, including tiramisu, panna cotta, zuppa inglese…all of them, delicious. The bill: 31 Euros/person
The big menu outside the restaurant suggests that you can get just about anything you want at Uldergo, but the reality may be different. It probably depends a lot on when you go. We went late at night after a Rossini performance and were offered a selection of fish-based dishes. The antipasto was a three-course feast. The first course alone would have been enough, with its bruschetta, salmon, octopus salad, and filet with mayonnaise, but then came a plate of sautéed shrimp and then a bowl of mussels. After this we had some seafood spiedini and a serving of tagliatelle with a mussel and fish sauce. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious. I don’t know what else they might have offered, because we pretty much said “Si” to the first suggestion made by the host or waiter. We will visit Uldergo again and see what happens.
It is a gem. Italian tradition at its best. The best ingredients for the simplest and most delicious dishes. Service is warm and eficient. Place unpretencious but nice in it simplicity. Dont leave Pesaro without trying it.
Truly excellent food at very good prices. The service was also very friendly. If I really had to make a complaint, it might be that the selection wasn't memorable (though it was good). I'll definitely be back.
