Food is still decent but a complete cyber experience. You don't talk to anyone and no one comes to your table, you order from a computer screen and that's the only real interaction you get. View all feedback.
What the heck happened? They aren't a restaurant anymore they are McDonald's with thinner burgers. Where are the waitresses? I will not be going back.

Honestly, I was disappointed from the start because now you have to use a kiosk to order your food. It allows you to leave a tip, but how do I even know if I want to leave a tip if I haven't even been served yet? Then you have to seat yourself. Then the non-waiter waiter calls your name and has you come up to get your drink. The atmosphere isn't anything like the bustling diner that Steak N Shake used to be. Then your name gets called again for you to pick up your food. I was missing food. And then when I went to ask for my sauce that I ordered I was asked to show my receipt. For a cup of sauce!!! It was obnoxious and made me feel like I was lying. You also have to scan your receipt to get a drink and so I was uncomfortable even asking for a cup of water to go along with my shake. Another customer came in from the drive-thru because they had forgotten something and made her go get her receipt. She had to get out of her car just to come in the first time THEY made the error and then to be asked to get her receipt was a joke. I'd be mad too. I didn't even get 4 full meals and it was over $50! Do better, Steak N Shake. This place is a real downer!! I mean if you aren't going to pay people to even be servers, you could at least upgrade the bathrooms! If you sit on the toilet, people can see all of your business through the wide hinge slot in stall door. It's always bothered me. As I was leaving, I watched two older ladies struggling to understand how to get a seat and then how to figure out the kiosk. I just don't think it's worth replacing humans. Ugh.
I a lot of the times will go here on my lunch break but as i don’t like their greasy as all get out burgers I usually just get some onion rings and a drink and I don’t expect to be treated like a king by any means but it seems like literally every time I go in through the drive through, the person on the other end sounds all nice at first then when I ask for my usual they just give me so much attitude, I’m always very nice and cordial (sometimes too much so) so I just don’t know what their problem is with me and I don’t normally leave reviews but it’s just so consistent that I just had to air my grievences. I work with customers as well so I definitely know that a rough day can effect your niceties but it just seems to be a me thing, if y’all at S&S are reading I’m sure you’ll recognize me so just let me know if I’m ordering the worst thing to order there or something bc I’m honestly shocked with how much attitude I get for seemingly nothing
I don't normally do reviews, much less negative ones, however I was very frustrated by one of my formerly favorite burger joints today. Ordering at a kiosk is one thing, but the locking of the Coke machine requiring a QR code is ridiculous! The kiosk even has the audacity to ask for a tip! What next.....booth rent? I would personally like to thank all the dishonest Coke thieves for requiring the restaurants to implement such ludacris measures.
