Was Alberto Mertz at Layup a mag?
Headed over to Lay Up for a change from my usual cafe. Had the scrambled eggs on toast. The portion was nice and big, and the eggs were done perfectly. 9/10!I also ordered a shake, which tasted good but was in a tiny glass, 7 bucks for a shake in a small glass was expensive. When i think shake, i think large glass and two straws! Nice setting on quiet Brisbane street, the staff are helpful and have very strange, twir... View all feedback.

What Janelle Mills dislikes about Layup:
the personal here is always friendly. the place is big and you can get a table with minimal waiting time that is great! was already often here when we live on the street and most of the things tried on their old menu and they are good, but nothing like wow. I tested the new menu yesterday and it was okay, although I noticed that the prices had risen? the only case, however, is the waiting period of the order. I would... View all feedback.

It was very disappointing that although the food was good, the service was bad and since posting a positive review on my IG page the owner personally

Layup is one of my favourite places in Perth, and I was surprised to find today that I hadn't uploaded a review here before.

I live local so I get coffee from here most days. Always good coffee, love the food and staff are great. Big fan of the deep fried hash and the hot cakes. :-)

We came here for brunch with a table of 5 the place was busy and the menu had so many options it was hard to decide. I ended up just having the fruit toast with cultured butter and a jam. Others ordered the fruit bowls? Maybe the Acai Bowls, eggs benny and deep fried hash dish. Coffees came out quick and my almond milk mocha was well made. The food took ages but was really delicious! My fruit toast looked a little over but was actually perfect! It had walnuts aswell - not some cheap $3 Coles loaf! I am going to go back again for the donut balls in the very near future mmm can't wait! There were no complaints from anyone! Presentation was good and so was the service (except for slow food but it was a full house and busy so understandable)

Layup offers a spacious dining area with minimal waiting time for a table, friendly service, and generous portions. The cafe is known for its brunch menu, with dishes like bacon, egg, and mushroom wraps and scrambled eggs on toast receiving positive reviews for taste and portion size. However, some patrons have noted issues with long wait times, high prices, and inconsistencies in food quality, such as stale bagels and excessive sauce. The coffee at Layup is described as good, though some have found the servings to be on the smaller side. Overall, the cafe's presentation and service are praised, with potential for improvement in speed and consistency in food quality. Located on a residential street in Northbridge, Layup is recommended for those looking for a relaxing brunch spot with friendly staff and well-made coffee.
