Suppose my attention was taken with the huge flashy Maccas over the road :( Then knowing that I walk that way to work my friend gave me a flyer as they thought I'd use the flyers free coffee offer.What a well kept secret which I want to change as I've returned several times and must now sound like a walking advertisment. Being honest I must say its a basic, no frills, no pretence place with attentive staff who told me that the cafe is a not for profit training cafe for Aboriginal people to assist them to get into the hospitality industry. You can even listen to the Aboriginal radio station that's next door but a drawback is the Mon to Fri 7am to 3pm opening times.Their Kuditj platter is a knockout for taste and value at $9.95 (there's a photo on their website) it has: . Kangaroo & Vegetable stew served with rice. Kangaroo meatball. Peppery berry Emu. Bush tomato relish with Damper crisps. a Sausgae roll made with Bush spice chicken & mushroom These are made daily and go quickly so if you turn up late like I did with 5 friends then you'll miss out. Staff explained to us that the Emu & Crocodile take Chef 48 hours to marinate. So when they've sold out for the day then that's it, no quick option for making more immediately. We settled on the generous Kangaroo pies and Bush spice sausage roll instead, but we did order the 7 individual platters we needed for more of our International students that were going to visit a few days later.I've tried their Bushmans wrap for when I needed a take away and also we have tried thier All Day breakfast & hot drink which again for $10 is a bargain.Don't forget their coffee, its also pretty good, I now call in every morning for my takeaway and notice that they have a steady stream of early morning regulars.As I said a walking advert but really I can't believe its such a secret and value for money especially for their taste of Australia as the staff said its the only Aboriginal owned cafe in Perth.

The cakes and... read more We often stop here on the way home from school just before the café is closing. We grab a coffee and kids hot chocolates and sausage roll or cake. The cakes and muffins are simple yet yummy and my two girls love the bush spice sausage rolls. My 93 year old nanna loves the lemon myrtle & feta rolls to best. I like the fact the food is prepared on premises by the chef and is not the mass production standard as most cafe's are these days. Well worth a try of some unique flavours and bush tucker.
