What Letitia Hills doesn't like about 77 Espresso:
Disappointing. Purchased a ham, cheese tomato toastie at $5.50. Got back to the office and opened it up and they had used the crust to make the sandwich with. When I'm paying $5.50 for a toastie, I don't expect them to use the crust. My friend also purchased a bacon egg muffin at $5 there was a tiny bit of fatty bacon in it with an egg which was also very disappointing. There are a lot of other eateries in Allendale... Wandered past earlier today and saw a funny A-Frame out the front, so I decided to indulge the sign's humour and got a coffee. The neon signs were very distracting (possibly because I lacked caffeination) but I digress. First thing I was met with was a wonderfully engaging young man blonde hair, slight accent, and according to him the one responsible for the chalk signs out the front. We had a great, fast-paced conversation where he was witty, cheekily attempted to upsell me a pastry, and remembered to offer me a loyalty card. I consider these to be bonuses so please pass on my regards.I wasn't confident that I could keep up with the pacing of his banter so I had to politely pay for my coffee and head out before I embarrassed myself; but if that guy is working regularly I might just pop in and see how he's doing. He was considerate enough to ask how I spelled my name for the coffee order, which I appreciate, and the barista walked the coffee to me instead of just shouting my name into the void a nice, personal touch. The coffee itself was decent quality strong, not too bitter, and certainly not as watery as one reviewer believes. The shop itself is in a very convenient location on St George's Terrace multiple buses stop just a few paces outside and looks to be a fun evening location to catch up for after-work beverages.
It doesn’t look special from the outside but I’ve had consistently good food and drinks here. The service is friendly and accommodating too. Toasted tortillas are my new fave, whilst the arancini balls come a close second.Happy hour on weekdays means cheap and decent quality drinks too.
Grabbed a takeaway coffee from here today on the way to a meeting Excellent service, delicious black coffee, which was well priced for the CBD.
This is a big cafe in a cavernous atrium in the foyer of an impersonal glass office block, so as you'd expect there's absolutely no chance of a warm,
