I stopped by for lunch on a warm day and found the cafe area to be very hot and stuffy. There were three of us and we all ordered sandwiches and a pot of tea for three. I chose a BLT on brown bread, which had freshly cooked and warm bacon. The sandwiches were all well-filled and priced at around £12 in total, which was good value. The shop was busy, but the service was still good, despite training a new staff member who was a lovely and friendly girl. My only complaint was that our table had been cleared but not thoroughly cleaned, leaving it a bit sticky and spotty in places. Additionally, the teapot was not a good pourer, especially for the first few cups, but improved after that.
My cousin, our two young daughters (3 years old), and I visited Tower Bakery Cafe in Coupar Angus yesterday for lunch. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very unfriendly and sour-faced staff member named Kathy. I have been served by her before and she never smiles or shows any kindness. Yesterday, her behavior was at a whole new level of rudeness. She made a scene and loudly told me to quiet down the kids, who were simply playing. She continued to glare at us throughout our meal. When we were finishing our lunch, enjoying our tea, Kathy came over and, in a very rude manner, asked us to leave because she couldn't stand the noise. I was shocked and offended, as the children were not causing any harm. It is a family-friendly establishment, after all. I have been a customer of the cafe for 10 years on and off, but I will not be returning as long as Kathy is working there. I am deeply disappointed and disgusted by her behavior.
Young girl who served us was very pleasant, older lady not so. Food cheap and cheerful and shop and cafe area was spotlessly clean.
Local bakery should be good. Poor takeaway and cakes don't even have real cream! Disappointing tho cheap
