Super place, busy and bustling so you must book in the evening. Lovely staff and great food. Feels like a happy night out. Kenmore needs this place! Well done Mains of Taymouth. Worth a visit and the shop is fab if you are self catering. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mains Of Taymouth Courtyard:
Just returned from the courtyard, what a major disappointment, if we had had some sort of food in the cottage we are staying in I would have left. As it was we ate our child size meals and just complained so much that they did...the right thing and didn’t charge. Now we have been frequenting this restaurant since it opened many years ago and visited it last August twice with family and absolutely no complaints at all... View all feedback.
The food was of low quality. The "warm" bread was not actually warm. The haggis dish lacked turnip and the rib eye steak was very fatty. The service was fine and the ambiance was pleasant, but do not expect good food here. It was a real letdown.
I dined at the bar one evening while on vacation. The haloumi burger was very greasy and served in a hard baguette instead of the promised brioche bun. The gnocchi was delicious but arrived late because we requested it without cheese. Unfortunately, there was no apology or friendly conversation from the staff.
Lovely view while you eat. Lovely and helpful staff to serve you and very tasty food to eat. Important to book.
A beautiful setting for a restaurant, overlooking the river Tay, service is excellent, but the food is pretty average.
We loved our meal here in January 2022, sadly this has now been sold and is undergoing major refurbishment, I do hope they don’t spoil the ambience of this hotel. It claims to be the oldest hotel in Scotland and is so beautiful, I bet the locals are waiting with baited breath to see what the new owners do. I will be back next year to find out what has changed, hopefully for the better
