The Rusted Spoon - Perry
The Rusted Spoon
Description
A retro-style diner serves breakfast all day with generous, budget-friendly portions, fresh omelettes and convenient rear parking. The cozy, conversational atmosphere and recent staff improvements win praise, but experiences are inconsistent: some guests report long waits, inattentive service and occasional poor-quality or overly sweet/undercooked dishes. Ideal for travelers and breakfast lovers seeking hearty comfort food, though expect variability in service and timing during busy periods.

First and foremost, the cleanliness of the restaurant was lacking. There were fly strips hanging all over the dining room, which was off-putting. The staff seemed disorganized and we were initially seated at a dirty table, despite being told to wait for it to be cleaned. When we ordered, my husband's food was good, but he had to wait an hour for his toast, only to receive cold toast with strange-looking butter. I ordered French toast, specifically requesting the regular option for texture as I have lost my sense of taste and smell due to COVID. However, I was given the crunchy French toast instead. The texture was unappealing as the corn flakes had become gummy and soggy when fried. After a single bite, I asked for what I originally ordered and had to wait another hour for it to be brought out. By that time, my husband had already finished his meal. Between the flies and the unappetizing food, I don't think I will be returning to this location in Brigham.
The Rusted Spoon is conveniently situated on Highway 89, but it may be easy to miss as it resembles a house. The menu offers classic American dishes with generous portions at reasonable prices. This hidden gem will now be our preferred choice for a meal before embarking on a scenic drive through Sardine and Logan canyons. The service was excellent, and we enjoyed a delicious lunch.
I was pleasantly surprised by this unassuming restaurant. The interior has a cute country kitchen atmosphere. The food was delicious and the service was excellent and attentive. I highly recommend this place for lunch. Each person can expect to spend between $10 to $20. The overall experience was a 5 out of 5 for food, service, and atmosphere.
Arrived Saturday afternoon around 130pm and still had a 30 min wait. There were empty tables but im assuming they were short staffed as many restaurants seem to be. Once seated service was great and food came out fast. Large portions, food was delicious, and prices were very budget friendly. Great place to stop for a meal!
Usually love the Rusted Spoon but the last 2 times I've been there now the wait time was ridiculous. This last time we waited almost 15 minutes before we were even greeted. I ordered coffee and the kids got orange juice, we ordered our food at the same time. We finished our drinks, my two coffees since she left the pitcher there, I waited 10 minutes for creamer) and the kids were losing there minds so much that my wife had to bring them to the car and I still waited another 12 minutes before she came out with my food. We were there a total of an hour and didn't eat there, I had to take it to go. The food is usually good but my wife's breakfast burrito had almost no meat, it was almost all potato. The ambiance of the place is usually pretty nice, but I was pretty disappointed with the wait time for everything this trip.
