What Betty H doesn't like about Palm Thai Cuisine:
Food was okay. Portion size and flavor could be a little better for the price. Boba tastes powdery and not blended well, lots of ice chunks. Most of all was very discouraged with the customer service. 3 young ladies working the front register, all standing around on their phones and when we needed something, had to get up from our booth and go up to the register to ask. The food was decent, but the portion sizes and flavors didn't quite justify the price. The boba had a powdery texture and wasn't blended well, leaving behind ice chunks. What I found most disappointing was the customer service. There were three young ladies at the front register, yet they were preoccupied with their phones. When we needed assistance, we had to leave our booth and approach the register ourselves. We asked for water with our meal and were given tiny cups that felt more appropriate for children. The overall atmosphere felt more like a takeout spot than a restaurant. I noticed several customers coming in just for takeout, which makes sense given the experience.
The Tom Ka soup was missing key ingredients like lemongrass, which threw off the authentic flavor completely. The Panang Curry Chicken resembled more of a soup than a proper curry (see attached picture). A good curry should be thick and creamy, but this one lacked the rich flavor that real Panang should have. They even added green peas, which is not traditional and shouldn’t be included in curry. I’m quite disappointed with my experience today.
This new Thai restaurant in town, located next to Food 4 Less, is fantastic! The service is outstanding, with friendly staff and a very clean environment. We sampled a variety of dishes, including Chicken Pad Thai, Shrimp Pad Se Ew, Pineapple Fried Rice, Cream Cheese Wontons, Beef Chow Mein, Orange Chicken, and Steamed Pot Stickers, and each one was delicious! The food is fresh and beautifully presented. I also loved their iced Thai tea. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. This restaurant is taking all necessary safety precautions during the Covid pandemic. I will definitely be coming back!
