Had such an amazing experience at Perisher, It was my first time ever seeing snow and snowboarding. The staff there were super kind and helpful and the ski hills were well maintained. My main problems were that everything was quite pricey along with the ski hill being extremely busy. Had such an amazing experience at Perisher, It was my first time ever seeing snow and snowboarding. The staff there were super kind and helpful and the ski hills were well maintained. My main problems were that everything was quite pricey along with the ski hill being extremely busy. Unless you were willing to pay for a lesson the steep slopes were kinda difficult to learn on, Sort of a being thrown into the deep end kind of situation. As for the small area provided for learning it was just far too small for the sheer amount of people in there, any attempt to ski down it would almost certainly end in you taking out a family or two. All and all tho it was such a mystical experience to be able to see snow and learn how to snowboard on it.
Perisher Ski Resort is one of the finest Skiing facilities in Australia. There are ample snow gear hiring options within and around it. There is hot food served within Perisher Ski Resort for a nominal price. Toilet facilities are also available which are frequently maintained and are relatively clean. We were traveling with three kids which included a one year old however the trip went smoothly. Don't forget to arrive early to get a parking spot bearby the resort otherwise, you have to catch a free bus to get there.
The shear fact that it has 4 very different resort areas that are all Li ked by lifts (or ski tube) makes this the best Australian resort for choice of runs and terrain. It always seems to have more snow coverage than it 's competitors. Plenty of 'on mountain ' areas to eat to escape the larger village food court areas. Good discounts also if you get a season pass. Be sure to get your national Park pass as rangers check car number plates every day. Also be aware the car park fills very quickly on weekends. Ski tube from bullocks flat is always a sure thing to beat the car park issue and also saves fitting chains on snowy days.
Snow time! If you are in Sydney or Canberra, and you really want to experience a fun snow time then come to this place. It could be packed but there are always spaces for you and your loved ones to play arround. The snow is just so thick and very sophisticated. I am in love with this place! Really wish to visit again
My favourite snow finding place. Great for non skies families. Kids friendly toboggan area which is not available in Thredbo. Ample parking, plenty rest rooms. Kudos to all perisher workers to make it accessible to us
