First came finding a place to live—an arduous, expensive, and often frustrating task. Next, I sought out parks, trails, rivers, and lakes to relax in, since those are my favorite spots. Then comes the search for food, which can be hit or miss depending on my mood. Waffle House has always been my go-to—a reliable option with no frills. Unfortunately, there are no Waffle Houses in Peoria, which leaves me feeling a bit lost when it comes to food. I often sit at their counter, watching as they work, and my orders come quickly. I recently discovered a new spot to eat: The Hungry Moose. I thought it looked interesting, so I decided to check it out. The bar felt like my old familiar counter, and the stools were similar. I could see right away that they knew what they were doing. The menu offered breakfast all day, which was music to my ears. The prices were reasonable, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious—my plate came back absolutely clean. I share this story with sincerity: nothing good in life comes for free.
No bone in wings, no lids for kid’s cup (2 yrs old) no sourdough bread for grilled cheese, and no air conditioning working..at least what we ate was good
The food was amazing! Our server was incredibly friendly and continually checked in on us. The restaurant was spotless and had a lovely ambiance. I ordered the Patty melt with onion straws, and it was outstanding! I also had a cup of chili for starters, which was fantastic! I highly recommend this place to everyone.
My husband and I went at lunchtime but opted for breakfast as they serve it all day. I had the breakfast burrito w beef (nice big size, thinly sliced beef). Eggs, hash browns, onions, tomatoes, cheese w tortilla lightly crisp. Your choice of meat. Delicious and decent price. However, my husband ordered side of toast for me because my particular breakfast entree didn't come w but it was $4.25. That was a crazy price for two slices of toast. My husband had country fried steak and eggs w hash browns/toast. My friend had taco salad w beef; she said it was very good. My husband and I would definitely order our breakfast again.
