The food here is truly authentic Mexican and incredibly fresh! We were impressed by the variety of salsas offered with the chips; our favorite was the Pineapple Salsa. We sampled the Fried Avocado Taco, Chicken Enchilada, Charred Avocado Taco, and the Caramel-Filled Churros. The staff was cheerful and provided service that was impressively quick. What Vicente Littel doesn't like about Cantina Gueros N Peoria:
Unfortunately this seems to have gone downhill. Several months ago we went on a date night and it was pretty good. Especially the drinks were good. However we went for lunch two Sundays ago and it was not good at all. The service was very slow. I ordered the fajitas and received a very substandard lunch. The vegetables were not good and very overcooked the whole meal was very disappointing. The only thing that came o... View all feedback.
This is my first visit to Arizona, and I was excited to try some authentic Mexican cuisine. This restaurant exceeded my expectations! I ordered the tacos borrachos plate and a papa street taco, while my husband had the tequila lime chicken burrito topped with cheese sauce. The meat was seasoned just right. We also tried the Mexican cornbread, which was delicious and not overly spicy. We highly recommend this place — the food is AMAZING! I'm a bit envious of those who live here and can enjoy it regularly. We will definitely be back!
From the warm welcome at the hostess stand to the excellent service from our waitress and the incredibly delicious food, it was an afternoon I can’t wait to experience again! The flavors were simply amazing. We tried a variety of dishes, and the salsa, refried beans, and cheese sauces were absolutely delightful—those charred tomatoes added just the right touch of smokiness! They were also accommodating when we requested to split a salad bowl. I believe it's important to know how to order here; if we had opted for 3 small street tacos at $5 each, we would have left feeling underwhelmed. We're big fans of Mexican cuisine, and this place has quickly become one of my all-time favorites! It was a wonderful introduction to a new restaurant for me. I can’t wait for my next visit! Plus, the fun wall murals added to the overall experience!

Pina margarita was a little sweet and could?ve had a little more heat, but overall was good. Can?t go wrong with a Blue Moon. The Grenada Guac was different and had good flavor. The rice and beans both had a good spicy kick in them, but not too much for most people. The Carne Asada looked and felt broiled but it held flavor well. Least favorite of the three. The grilled shrimp taco was good as well. The best taco was Al Pastor. The pickled onions really added the perfectamount of acidity. I wouldn?t drive too far out of my way, but this was a surprisingly good spot.
The tacos are fantastic, and the staff is very friendly! I came in for a late happy hour and ended up staying for dinner. The bar serves excellent drinks, including spicy jalapeño margaritas, and provided great recommendations. The potato taco and barbacoa enchilada were both delicious. I will definitely return for Taco Tuesday next time!
