Campbell's - Peoria

We stopped in this morning for breakfast since it has been a while and we were craving good food and drinks. I understand the wait staff was short, but when I had asked another server to check the status of our food after waiting 30-40 mins, her response was that's a typical wait for food. I was like oh really, because people who got seated after us are already eating. She got defensive saying it was only the two of them serving in which I told her I respect that, I just want to make sure our order didn't get lost. The waitress didn't put in my order for another drink, the bacon was burnt, the chicken fried steak in the burrito was chewy and we were never offered an actual explanation on what took so long. The table next to us that came in later got their food in less than 10 mins of waiting, which their order included chicken fried steak, blueberry pancakes, similar to what we ordered. I understand being short staffed, my concern wasn't with the waitresses lack of checking in on us. It was the rude comment I received when asking the status of our order after seeing several others getting their food that was in there after us in addition to the quality of the food that came out after waiting so long. Not sure we will be back anytime soon.

I may be a bit bias having known the Campbells for many years. They are a family restaurant serving the best quality at an affordable price. I have never had a bad meal there and if there was a problem it would be taken care of at the time and not from the shadow of a keyboard. If you have a bad experience That is your fault. The management will make it right. They really do care.

This place can get busy on the weekends so prepare for a wait. I decided to try out their western waffle sandwich and it was a complete chore just to finish. The waffle and egg were lacking any sort of meaningful flavor. To top it all off, the waitress miscalculated and gave one of my friends the incorrect amount of money back as change so he lost more money than he was supposed to. For me, my total came out to $14.08 with tax and tip.

Great food, big portions, gets pretty busy when they do open so we typically carry out. Breakfast burritos are the best.
