Bears Den Restaurant - Penticton

The absolutely worse beef dip I have ever had. There was about half fat and grizzle The fries were good and staff nice

Met some friends for lunch today. We arrived prior to our friends. The restaurant was busy and the greeter told us to sit anywhere where the table was clean. We saw a table open up in what we thought would be a quiet corner and so went over to wait while the busser cleared and cleaned. The waiting gave us plenty of time to notice that the window sills were quite well populated with dead flies of all sizes clearly not something they clean daily. The busser did not once look up or offer a smile or greeting. I am going to assume this is her first job and she hasn't yet learned that all positions impact customer experience. When we were seated, the busser came back with two menus and two sets of cutlery and asked if we wanted anything to drink. We told her that there would be 4 of us and ordered waters for us all. She came back with two waters only. When our server came by, we asked what the soup of the day was and we were told it was some sort of chicken tortilla soup but not spicy (her exact words). Our friends ordered breakfast and I think they made the right choice. We ordered wraps and the chicken tasted odd. The cup of borscht was very good. The restaurant was very noisy lots of dish clearing noise, not so much other customers. Service overall was not exceptional. Food that we had was not exceptional. Not sure we would go back for lunch.

Was told this was a great place for breakfast, and it is if you like Diner style service and food. None of the staff seemed to “want” to be there… they all reminded us of Alice…. Food was ok at best, portions were typical, price was what you’d expect. So generally it’s ok… so long as your not expecting much…. You get hot food and hot coffee… don’t expect more…

This place is a must, do not go to Denny’s for breakfast, walk another block instead, you will not be disappointed… Husband and I ate there twice and both times were excellent, the staff were very friendly the place was nice and clean and breakfast arrived promptly, hot and fresh, just the way I like it. The first morning we had eggs Benedict with crispy little potatoes and the second day we had an omelet with toast, the toast was just the way I like it not all smothered in butter. Both days we had two different waitresses and they were very friendly. I also liked the fact that before you entered the restaurant there was a sign saying proof of vaccination needs to be provided, We did see customers being turned away, so thank you for keeping us all safe. We hope to come back someday when we return to Penticton.

Went to have breakfast at this location on the recommendation of several people. Such a disappointment. Hardly any customers and three servers. After waiting 15 minutes and a half cup of very insipid coffee only, our order had still not been taken. We are at Denny’s and now have our breakfast and it is not even 15 mins since we sat down.
