Three out of four dishes were amazing at this restaurant. The oysters Rockefeller were fantastic, as were the ruby red steamed shrimp (make sure to ask for lemon) and the coconut shrimp. However, the shrimp salad was not very good. View all feedback.
What Carrie B doesn't like about Perdido Key Oyster Bar Restaurant:
The service at this restaurant was excellent, with our food arriving hot and promptly. However, I am deducting a star from my rating due to the quality of the majority of the dishes. View all feedback.
All I have to say is how can a restaurant called Oyster Bar not have raw oysters? Very disappointed since that was what we went there for. They should have posted a sign on the door, so while we were waiting for our table we could have decided whether we wanted to stay or find another restaurant. Instead, we were told that after we waited, were seated, and ordered our drinks. Now, that really is all I have to say.
Anyone who's read my reviews could likely tell that I enjoy a treat, an enviable vibe, an experience different than the everyday. Oyster Bar Restaurant could be all these things... exceptional location on the Mariana with sunset views highlighting the boats, a cool interior with wrap around patio seating, the location moments to exclusive hidden Perdido Key IYKYK spots. But sometimes, the reality is less opulent. We found this location to be somewhat unorganized, outdated for the clientele, staff overwhelmed and looking less than pleasant to be working, patrons tired of waiting, overpriced, and underwhelming. Bartenders were gracious, fast to pour, and enjoyable. The waiters were less enthusiastic and the hustle appeared more of a grind. For an Oyster restaurant to be out of oysters, it's a certain disappointment. Our waitress made some major misteps but the food was fine, just not special. The appetizer and meal presentation was average priced on the higher end for the quality. Maybe on another day it will shine... just not the day I visited. And I will likely never return.
Me and my family come here every year on vacation and we try to come to the Oyster bar every year multiple times throughout the week. We are usually big fans. We always come on Labor Day week. We came twice this past week, Monday and Friday night. Both nights we were greeted very uncomfortably. We always sit at the outside bar because that’s the best place with the best views. Both nights, the bartenders were very standoffish. We got there at 7pm (they close at 9pm). Both nights the bartenders said they start closing early and were actively cleaning and putting stuff up as if they were immediately closing. They didn’t even seem like they wanted to serve us. Very negligent and honestly unwelcoming. They kept saying stuff like “oh we’re overflow we always close early”. We’ve been coming here for 6 years and this has never happened before. We were very displeased with the service. We were rushed and made to feel like a burden. Honestly we will likely not come back with the service we were greeted with. Very poor hospitality and service.
6 years of coming here while on vacation. Never been treated this way by the outside bar staff before. My wife and I came here last Saturday afternoon after traveling 10 hrs and all was fine. Came back this past Tuesday evening and brought friends. Bragged about this being our go to place. Upon arriving at the outside bar we had an unfriendly greeting from the young lady working. Made us feel unwelcome and being a burden. We arrived at 7 and they do last seating at 9. We agreed to stay to eat and have several drinks. After paying a $362 tab and leaving this young lady a $100 tip, she miraculously became very friendly. We returned back this evening for our last night of stay. We received the same greeting from the young man at the outside bar. My wife and friend only ordered a drink but no food. My son and I had already ordered appetizers or we wouldve left. The attitude and greeting was very undeserved and very much not appreciated. Very doubtful we will return to this establishment, which is sad! I did speak to the shift manager tonight and she assured it will be handled. I certainly hope so or this business will not last. Business is business and peoples hard earned money should mean more than this. What a shame we’re leaving tomorrow with this bad experience to share.
This is my go to spot. There's a bar and dining outside. You're upstairs able to watch the boats is they come to and from in the intercoastal waterway, seafood restaurant but I've honestly had the best steak ever here
