We drove out of Bossier City, Louisiana and stopped to eat. The staff was extremely friendly and the meatball sandwich was amazing! It was enough to feed 2 to 4 people and definitely the best meatball sub I have ever had. The only disappointment was that it wasn't Thursday, so I couldn't try the whimpy burger. Next trip down, I will make sure to visit on a Thursday to try it. View all feedback.
Top notch food. Been in the Navy and associated with the Pensacola area for 18 years, the one place I always have to visit is Hip Pocket Deli. Chris and his family provide a level of customer service like no other restaurant in the area. Won't be back down to PCola for about a year and my hope is that Hip Pocket is re-opened because a full shutdown would be a devastating blow to this community. For those that have not enjoyed lunch here, visit and try a Gyro or one of the deli sandwiches and then determine for yourself if there is a more customer friendly and satisfying restaurant in the local area. Keep Hip Pocket around
Some of the best food you will ever eat. Great staff; they make you feel like you are family. This is a great example of local business thriving with roots in the community. You are missing out if you don't try at least once!
I have travelled to over 20 countries. In each location I seek out the best hole-in-the wall places to eat. I have favorites around the world and Hip Pocket is on my list. You go there for the food. Large, delicious sandwiches- try the gyros and the Reuben, my favorites. The price is extremely reasonable. The staff is a local family who engage their customers with welcoming conversation. The location is quaint and filled with memorabilia from the local community, especially the neighboring naval bases. Highly recommend.
P-colas best kept secret.. The food is awesome, the customer service is excellent and the portions are huge. There is actually a poundage next to most of the sandwiches so you know what you are getting into. For example, If you aren't in the mood for a 5lb meatball sub there are smaller sandwiches available. I had the Reuben and it was no joke. My wife had the vegetarian Gyro and loved it. They also have 5 dollar cakes big enough to feed 10 people. Try the chocolate cake with four different types of chocolate, it was delicious. It's only open at lunch and it gets really busy during that time. Get there early and bring an appetite. One of my favorite hidden jems in Pensacola.
