When you first arrive, the food truck can be a bit hard to find since it's located in the front parking lot of an abandoned building. However, the staff there are very friendly. They managed to accommodate our order on short notice, just two days before the event. I definitely plan to return for lunch!

What steve h doesn't like about Barbasian:
I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, two egg rolls, and some fried rice. The sandwich was decent but felt overpriced at $6. The rice was fine, though it was mostly just rice. The egg rolls were definitely the highlight of my meal—two for $3 and filled with smoked pulled pork. Overall, I’d give it three stars. View all feedback.
I was looking for some decent BBQ and decided to give this place a try. I got there and was greeted by a friendly guy. I ordered 1/3 rack of ribs, 1/2lb pulled pork, the pulled pork egg rolls, fried rice and beans. Total was $29. Ribs were tender and juicy with a nice sauce. Pulled pork was juicy with nice seasoning. Beans decent but not overwhelmingly outstanding. The pulled pork fried rice was good but the egg rolls were delicious. A good meal for 2 although it would be nice to have a side added in . I give the food a 4.5 but the fact that sides are not included with the meat orders bring the overall experience down to a 4. I will go back because the food was really good!
I went to the the Pace blvd location. BBQ was mad pretty decent. I ordered the following: Chicken quarter: 6 (thigh/leg 1/3 ribs: 12 (6 small ribs Small fried rice: 3 (cup Total: 22 w/tax Bonus: 2 free egg rolls with yelp check in (The guy at the counter didn't know about this Yelp deal and called it fake. He wasn't happy about it and gave bad vibes for me asking for the Yelp coupon deal First off, I believe this food is overpriced. Why is everything a la cart? Second, the meat was of low quality. Save-A-Lot brand perhaps. It's basically paying Interstate Fair price . There's no where to sit. It's to-go only. Food tasted good, but really low quality chicken. And the ribs were dry. Nothing worst than some dry old ribs. Chicken was nice a juicy tho. : I would've normally expected to pay 12-15 for this meal somewhere else and would've got to sit down and got a glass of water. For a 6 thigh it could've at least came with some kind of side. Also, 12 for 6 lil ribs....dafuq...could've thrown in a piece of bread or something, maybe a side of slaw. Or how bout a free side of fried rice? Location is kinda sketchy. The food truck is in an abandoned building parking lot along the side of a fence. You can see a nice view of the Escambia County jail. There lots of nice barbed wire fences everywhere....broken natural ice bottles, losing lottery tickets scattered across the dirt floor. The artisan pawn shops nearby are convenient just in case you tryna hit a lick. Or find a good deal on a boom box or Sega Genesis. Is this place real? On my way out, a nice older gentleman wearing a beanie, flannel and pushing a shopping cart full of empty cans, decided to cross Pace blvd and stop incoming high speed traffic. He was yelling or singing something at the sky and then eventually stumbled back across to safety on the sidewalk and slowly slipped back into the Old E. If you're just absolutely hungrier than a hostage and you're willing to pay ransom level prices for some BBQ, than check out Barbasian. I give them 3 stars.
Their new location out on the Palafox pier is gorgeous! The service was also phenomenal. Very nice staff and all smiles! Though very nice, the location was just a bit difficult to spot. It's easy to mistake for an ice cream parlor or a different business at first glance. As for the food, we enjoyed the 1/3 slab rib basket with the BBQ fried rice. We also had their BBQ spring rolls. The ribs are fantastic...very tender and fall right off the bone. They have a regular sauce and a spicy sauce. Both were good, but be advised, even the regular sauce has some kick to it. The price for the portion is just a bit steep, but this is to be expected for such a venue. The BBQ fried rice was also very good. A generous amount of pulled pork sits atop the bed of fried rice, which we enjoyed. The rice itself was just a bit cold, however. It likely would have been better were it hot and fresh. Finally, the spring rolls are a definite winner. They contain the same delicious pulled pork as the fried rice and are served with a great BBQ sauce for dipping. They also serve Hershey's Ice Cream if you want something sweet. Overall, I highly recommend this establishment if you want some good BBQ with a nice view of the ocean. They are military friendly and offer a 10% discount for military members. Go check them out.
Fine place for BBQ. This place has a cool atmosphere.
We had the egg rolls at the Pensacola Habitat for Humanity Hot Wheels event today and fell in love. Oh god they were so amazing. The pork was really juicy and had lots of flavor. The sauce was really good too. Can't wait to try more from you guys!
