Go straight to the bar and ask for Bryce...the tattoos and man bun guy at the bar...he makes THE best limeade margaritas on the island! I say skip the grand mariner and just do Cointreau and agave...extra limes... Then grab a menu and order the chips salsa and guacamole! I love the suicide nachos and I also love the quesadillas...come for brunch too as you won't be disappointed. This place is located on The Boardwalk... View all feedback.
What Jaclyn O doesn't like about Cactus Flower Cafe:
Nasty. I will never eat here again. The food is subpar l, the prices are sky high, and the servers are extremely un-attentive. The cheese dip is literally melted cheese you can buy at Walmart mixed in with sour cream... And the chips...my goodness...they really are bagged chips. No kidding. Santitas bagged tortilla chips. This was the perfect late lunch/early dinner spot for me and my wife. We don 't eat meat and that was no problem here. Cactus Flower can adjust. For example, my wife ordered the Mexican Salad but had them take out the meat option. She also chose lime rice delicious option. I ordered the Vegetarian Burrito with lime rice. Keep in mind this is not a fancy place. But it is clean, bright, comfortable, and our server Gina was outstanding. Outside seating is also available. Their Happier Hour is from 4pm to 6pm.
This is another place I heard good things about. They seem to be a bit short handed on the wait staff side of things. We waited awhile in between getting drinks and getting food. Also, I ordered margaritas and I swear to you there was no tequila in them. Me and a friend had to order shots of tequila to add to them. We werent charged for the shots so Im assuming it was because there was no tequila in our original margs. I had a mango shrimp salad and it was pretty good! I liked that it had some white rice on it to help it be more filling. I wish they gave more salsa for the chips and salsa in the beginning. We ran out pretty quickly. My friends whom I was with enjoyed their food. I would label this place as okay .
Great mango shrimp salad, everything else, including the salsa and queso was just average. Friendly staff and quick service.
As far as Mexican food at Pensacola Beach, this is probably your best option (I am not sure if I saw any other options). I grew up in San Antonio and have a fairly high standard regarding Tex Mex. That being said, this isn't the best Mexican food I have had, but it is pretty good. I like the overall atmosphere (fairly clean for the beach) with a Tex Mex vibe. The staff was friendly and service was quick (though we were dining on a Sun at 2 pm). Entrees of the Mexican Salad with pulled chicken and the Grill Wrap with mahi were both good. I think the wrap had enough melted cheese and grilled onions that I could have eaten just about anything in there, but it was still enjoyable. Portions were decently sized and I thought prices were reasonable, especially for the tourist area. I haven't been to the original location in East Hill so I can't say how this compares, but for the location, price, and overall quality, I think this place is alright and worth another visit.
