Buckin Bean Coffee Roasters - Pendleton
Buckin Bean Coffee Roasters
Description
Nestled near a busy pass, Buckin’ Bean is a cozy, family-run coffeehouse praised for friendly staff, in-house roasts and standout lattes. Fresh pastries and quick service make it a popular stop for travelers and locals, while the warm, community vibe feels welcoming. Experiences vary: occasional long waits, inconsistent drink temperature and portion sizes, limited vegan choices and a laptop-time policy have left some customers disappointed.

Owner was friendly and atmosphere was pleasant. They had some alternative milks but no vegan food items. Barista appeared unenthusiastic and served me a watery, flavorless and too-hot mocha in a paper cup. Next time I’d give it a pass.
Absolutely loved the feel of this local coffee shop. We stopped in with our family while passing through the area, and the staff were incredibly kind to us. We managed to get two drinks and breakfast for a very reasonable price point. Decor and overall vibe were exactly what a coffee shop should be.
That was until one day when I was “corrected” about my seating choice during my last visit. It honestly felt more like a reprimand. The last time I visited, there were no other available seats, so I ended up sitting at a four-seat table. I ordered a coffee and something to eat and worked for a couple of hours. However, I was then told, “Next time you come in alone, could you sit somewhere else?” I was a bit taken aback. After that experience, I found myself returning to Starbucks, as it honestly left a bad taste. Still, wanting to support them, I gave Buckin Bean another chance. I even started bringing clients for coffee. Then, I came across a post stating that Buckin Bean was struggling due to nearby construction. Last week, I had a Zoom call in about five minutes and considered going to Starbucks, but I decided to give Buckin Bean another chance instead. I ordered my coffee and was about to sit down when the barista informed me, “Just so you know, if we get busy, I’ll have to limit your laptop time to an hour.” That was it for me. I hate to say it, but I’ll be sticking with Starbucks from now on, where I feel welcomed and not like a hassle for being a customer.
