Dinner for two adults and two children. It was a wonderful meal with a creative menu and great wine list. Food was beautifully presented and delicious. The service was excellent, attentive and efficient. Portions were generous and tasty. Will be back.
Absolute gem of a pub..... variety of real ales and mulled wines and ciders......great atmosphere and accommodating staff.....we walked the ramblers waterfall's route and returned to be met by a real log fire......we will return
Lovely place, and food was outstanding new favourite place to go. Had the beaujoulais menu. Pigeon to start, ox cheek for main and a chocolate delice for dessert..
Although we could not sit down for lunch (on Sunday and Father Day), we decided to take a look at what the little lion offers. they really hit the place.
After a gap of many years I think the Red Lion has really blossomed into a lovely venue without losing any of its country pub character. On 2 visits I've enjoyed a very good lamb Sunday dinner where more of the delicious cauliflower cheese was happily provided on request and also a very excellent buffet. The staff are friendly and very polite and an issue was corrected on my first visit with no question. High running costs mean it's not cheap but it's definitely worth it by far the best place locally in my opinion.
