Description

Nestled in a stunning location, The Stackpole Inn has garnered a reputation for its vibrant atmosphere and enticing menu. While some diners have enjoyed delightful meals featuring fresh fish and generous portions, others have faced challenges with overcooked dishes and inconsistent service. Slow service and average-quality meals, particularly the steak, have left certain patrons disappointed. However, many rave about the attentive staff and welcoming ambiance, praising the exceptional quality of the food and quick service on busier days. Overall, The Stackpole Inn remains a popular choice, with a mix of memorable and lackluster experiences worth noting.

We didn't stay at the Inn, but found it by chance for dinner. What a gem in a beautiful part of the world. The food and service were excellent. And although the prices are a little higher than a standard pub, the quality of the food was worth every penny. Locally sourced, good quality, well considered ingredients made every mouthful a joy. Plus an excellent wine selection too.

Great food, best Meat pie I've had Unfortunately the waitress looked as if she didnt want to be there very miserable...

The pub has a garden at the front with tables and sun shades. Parking is limited. Families might find food and drinks priced above average so worth asking as the menu seen did not appear to indicate these. Service and environment average.

We stayed for two nights and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Our room was fantastic, with plenty of space for two weary walkers and all our gear. The bed was enormous and incredibly comfortable, and the complimentary Welsh cakes were a lovely touch. We dined in the restaurant on one evening. Despite arriving earlier than expected and needing to change our reservation time, nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was exceptional — the surf and turf was described as the best ever, while the cod with bravas sauce was simply divine. Somehow, we still found room for dessert: a delicious panna cotta and a Snickers-inspired cheesecake served with salted caramel ice cream. Breakfast was equally impressive. Everything was locally sourced, freshly cooked to order, and served with Peter's trademark smile. The welcome, service, food and atmosphere were all superb. This charming independent country inn deserves to be supported and is an absolute must-visit if you're in the region. And one thing's for certain — we won't wait another 25 years before returning!

We walked up from the coastal path past the lilly ponds. A lovely inn, big rooms, comfortable bed, welshcake and tea in the room and a nice hot shower. Amazing food the cawl and pies were great. Also a lovely big breakfast with best black pudding ever. Friendly staff very helpful.
