What Angela P doesn't like about The Ferry Inn:
It's been a few years since I've been here and it was alway a favourite but very disappointed. Menu was very limited not what was shown on line . Food was OK but staff were quite rude and although very quiet night I had to keep going up to bar to ask for service and generally ignored View all feedback.
This place has someone who really can cook. Well trained staff. Decent sensible portions. Very welcoming staff in a pleasant pub, in a village. Best pub meal we've had for a long time.
Came to The Ferry Inn for a New Year’s Eve meal whilst staying in the Little Retreat in Lawrenny. Called for last minute reservation, very accommodating, and attentive. Meal sizes were large portions and extremely good value for money. Staff were very friendly and we would highly recommend! This pub is dog friendly.
Very nice food but it says it specialises in seafood! Hardly any of it on the menu. But still nice food.
18 of us gathered for a surprise birthday meal.. only not to be seated together. Part of the party was sat in a corner area and the other just below. However all cramped in. Where my seat was I was sat between two tables and had no space to eat. The waitress started to bring the food out at 7.30. The table was booked for 7.30 and not everyone had arrived. The waitresses became disgruntled with us for asking them to return the food to the kitchen and be brought back when the whole party had arrived. When the food arrived meals were missing and some incorrect meaning some of the party only started eating when others had finished. Food wasn’t great either. Weren’t asked if we wanted sauces. When we did find a waitress to ask for some they never arrived. Drinks orders were taken but most drinks didn’t arrive but stayed on the bill. One waitress was incredibly rude to both us and the other waitress and started arguing with other restaurant staff right next to our table. Safe to say we left as soon as we could and went to a different pub.
The pub itself is cosy and nicely decorated. Yet the Menu mainly fried options) and food left a lot to be desired. We ordered three prawn cocktails for starters, only to be told a few minutes later that there weren 't any prawns. We then waited over 40 minutes for our mains to arrive. The 'warm ' Indian lamb burger was topped with one very soggy lettuce leaf and a 'partial ' piece of tomato. The two onion Bhajis looked like they had come from a packet you can buy in a supermarket. The Coleslaw was warm. The other two dishes consisted of a bowl containing 'dirty fries ' with chopped up southern fried pieces of chicken, the odd bit of bacon, topped with a soggy sauce. All of which looked 'dirty ' and very unattractive. The staff, although trying to be polite, seemed a little disgruntled. We left feeling very disappointed.
