My wife and I called in for a drink last week while staying in Tenby, we were lucky to have a table opposite the hotel in the sun/garden terrace overlooking the south beach, enjoying the sun. Happy hour was between 12-6pm , good service at the bar and staff regularly cleaned the tables and collected glasses from where we were sitting. View all feedback.
What David P doesn't like about Clarence House Bar Restaurant:
The hotel was advertised at £95 per night when I went to book it was £117 per night plus extra for breakfast!, the room we had was very small, The staff were polite, unfortunately the evening entertainment a male singer was very typically average, The breakfast was very good and served quickly. Would I stay again YES although I can't help feeling for the money theres better places to stay in Tenby. View all feedback.
We were recommended this Hotel as it has a Happy Hour between 12 6 p.m. Everytime I went to the bar, the short, slim, dark haired man didn't even greet me, never said thank you or indeed speak at all! I thought he was a working dummy! Next time I come here I'll bring a voice box and a smile!
Approximately 50 of us on a short break together. We didn't know what to expect as this is only a 2 Star Hotel. What a lovely surprise we had. The Hotel is spotless The Bedrooms are cleaned and fresh towels every day. The Bathroom was a good size with a shower over bath. There was always plenty of hot water and no problems with having a shower or bath whenever you wanted. The Hotel is very well maintained and well decorated. The only thing that needs to be done is it needs new windows. A lot of the windows are the old metal Crittal windows and tend to be draughty, this is the only fault I could find. From when we arrived to when we left all the staff were brilliant. Our waiters and waitresses were fabulous, on our table we had a lovely young waitress Lucy. Lucy could not do enough for us and made our stay there wonderful. The Hotel has a real character who will give guided tours his name is Hubert and he was brilliant. The food was fantastic , not a bad meal in sight. There were two coachloads of people staying and we all had meals at same time. Our food was always hot except cold meals and excellent. The Hotel put on entertainment most nights and this was very good. This Hotel really deserves 3 Stars. We cannot thank everyone enough for everything that was done for us to make our stay lovely.
The clifftop location with stunning views makes this small area a large attraction. Within a short walk across the road into the bar service was never an issue. Special offers on beer and wine for residents and non residents from 12.00 noon until 18.00pm made this our daily trip after spending time in and around Tenby. We also had lunchtime snacks which were both fresh and well priced.
Well it's like s trip back to my childhood in the 1970's.. the decor hasn't changed since then either but very clean. We were looking for somewhere for lunch and booked last minute here... we were not staying here. £8.50 adult £4.95 child. Three choices of meat... as a carvery roast and new potatoes, peas, cauli cheese, red cabbage, yorkies, carrots and proper meat juice gravy... plenty of food.... puddings £2.95... pineapple upside down, fruit salad very traditional again but very tasty. Added bonus it's happy hour 12pm-6pm at £2.50 a pint.. lovely glass balcony across the road great views
We were on a stag do and came upon this place selling loads of cheap alcohol inside and where we could happily consume on a plot of land across the road from its reception/public bar. It was an extremely hot, sunny weekend and the beer was flowing. Walking through its front doors, many hotel residents (mostly of senior age) were alighting/embarking on coaches either just arriving or waiting to go. It was a pain fetching our pints of beer through all the suitcases strewn everywhere but at least it was worth it to sit in a private patio garden overlooking South beach across to Caldey island and getting a sun tan. Be aware...The tables are tacky and wobbly and many a pint was spilled with broken glass everywhere but the miserable staff were quick to come out with broom and dust pan to clear up the glass, and were willing to grab our money for replacement beers.
