I have eaten at other La Carreta restaurants and this by far is the one that has the best food. They have a delicious chicken on the menu and I love the fry snapper. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about La Carreta Pembroke Pines:
I expected more from the restaurant, not sure if I would visit again. We visited the new location in Miramar, it was overall a good time. But, stay away from unfamiliar items. I took the recommendation of the waiter, and I should have not- obviously he probably has not had the fish with shrimp in a green sauce. All I tasted was the egg and the fish had no taste. It was high priced for the quality of food I expected.... View all feedback.
I had higher expectations for this restaurant and I'm not sure if I'll return. We visited the new location in Miramar, and while it turned out to be a decent experience overall, I recommend avoiding unfamiliar dishes. I followed the waiter's suggestion and, unfortunately, it didn't pay off. It seems he may not have tried the fish with shrimp in green sauce himself, as all I could taste was the egg and the fish was bland. Given the price, the quality of food was disappointing. When I mentioned my dissatisfaction to the waiter, we were not offered an alternative nor did they reduce the price of the dish. I chose not to send the plate back since I was with my kids and didn’t want to create a scene. It was by far one of the worst meals I've had, and it may be a while before I decide to go back.
This is the second La Carreta Restaurant I've been to, and both the Pembroke Pines and Miami locations have experienced disappointing service and uninspired food.
On the morning of May 3rd, 2008, I took my family to the fast food section for breakfast, where we ordered coffee with milk, hot chocolate, toast, pastelitos, and various other items. Unfortunately, the area designated for general seating was full, leaving us without a place to sit. My wife asked if we could sit in the main dining area since there were no chairs available, but the manager was incredibly rude and insisted that she sit in the bar area with our children. This was understandably upsetting, as the restaurant was nearly empty and there were plenty of tables and chairs available in the other part of the dining area. It’s simply inappropriate to seat children in a bar setting.
Not the greatest Cuban cuisine... atmosphere is loud and seating reminds me of a cafeteria.... food quality doesn't equal the price while not expensive, too much based on quality. Communication barriers with service staff.
This is a good place to go for Cuban food. The food is good and the atmosphere is nice. Anything you order is pretty good.
