Yagi Sushi And Hibachi - PAWLEYS ISLAND

It wasn't the worst sushi we've ever had, but certainly not the best either. The service was sporadic, at best, and the restaurant wasn't even full. There were several light bulbs out making it difficult to see the small writing on the menu, and I guess they were trying to save money on the power bill because it felt like the A/C was turned off.I'm all about 2nd chances so we'll try it again soon, hopefully have better luck next time.

Came in for Sushi and Soup and a couple beers. Used to live in Pawleys and always remembered how good the food was. Upon entering I asked how long they would be open due to the incoming storm was rudely told (this is paraphrased she went on a bit of a tirade) by a server/host “we’re gonna close soon order now if you want something” my server however was a breath of fresh air very kind and good to converse with. I ordered the miso soup and while I ate that I looked at the menu and drank my beer. After ordering sushi and waiting it arrived it looked delicious! I asked for a napkin to spit out my gum. While waiting for my napkin I looked down at my sushi and there was a cockroach with sauce drizzled on it. I told the staff and asked for my check. They comped my meal and I was on my way. My server apologized profusely. Probably will not be back. Please do better Yagi, you have dropped the ball.

Pork belly lettuce wraps are generous on the pork belly and great texture and flavor. Very happy we stopped here. I'm not a sushi guy, but my partner loved her rolls. White peach sake is gentle and perfect for a mid day drink. Service was great and informative.Food: 5/5

Best hibachi I’ve had in a while . I live in North Carolina so this was so good for me and my family. I order 10 kids meals chicken shrimp. Every ones food was Hot and delicious the whole family enjoyed.Food: 5/5

Longtime Yagi patron here. We've come to really know and love Walter over the years. And we watched his sidekick, I believe his name is JD, grow as a sushi chef over the past few years. But...The young lady at the front was sitting there watching me and my wife clean the soy sauce and old fish off the sushi bar countertop. She's sitting at the front door, and I can see her watching us clean the countertops through the mirror. My wife used the restroom, and she was totally disgusted by the grossness.I became very upset and I did raise my voice because she's sitting there watching us clean. But someone had to do it!Sorry guys, it's no longer worth the trip from Myrtle Beach.By the way, when we were standing at the front door for 5 minutes for someone to seat us, she was busy refusing an order from a lady who wasn't ordering enough.That rude person told this patron that her order was not large enough. Sorry guys, if it was me, I wouldn't turn away anyone .....she walked out.REALLY?So, to wrap it up, one customer was turned away and one customer was kicked out.Unfortunately, we will never return.
