Every thing was nice, cool architecture, nice food fresh raw fish, fresh lobsters, very polite servings,, cool stuff.
This place is outside the city a bit and it looks like it might have been a truck stop or something similar at one point. Not elegant. Not pretentious. Not a lot of things. What it does have is good fish. Pavia is a long way from the sea by Italian standards and sea fish are not part of la cuicina Pavese. They do eat the little fish fried from the PO and Ticino rivers. They are called pesciolini. Lady must get his/her fish from the Milan fish market. It's suoer fresh. And for fish .....that is all that matters. I'd eat there again and I will.
A real food fish opportunity close to great rival Milan city!! Not easily to create a satisfactory food corner with fresh fish specialities!! Excellent atmosphere and friendly staff althought the sensitive imprint may image a luxury and sophisticated place .Grilled fish as must!! Satisfactory list of wines
This restaurant is located in the middle of nowhere (that is in the outskirts of Pavia) so there is no problem with parking at all but you need a car or take a taxi to get there. The building itself does not promise much gastronomic delights since it is a rather ugly concrete structure. But the food is something else. I had the best oysters ever and a quite creative lobster in Catalan style. As expected, it is not cheap particularly so far away from the sea but quite good. The wine was more disappointing, or perhaps we got unlucky by hitting basically 3 wines all below average, so it is advisable to taste it first before ordering a bottle. Service is quite good but do not expect very fluent English so, some Italian abilities would be of service.
Service could not have been better. Food was great. Good portion sizes. Very relaxed and romantic atmosphere. Awesome for couples or even many people large scale meals. The seafood perfectionists then when desert came it was brilliant to. Perfectly finished the meal off. Price was good, very reasonable. Serves some of the best wine in Italy. The only trouble was it was slightly out the way from Australia.
