I was in this place in February, when I called to know the menu they told me that their prices are high, very gentlemanly and then I wonder why not publish the online menu? We come to the therefore, very nice place ideal for a romantic dinner of couple. Plates ranging from 30 euros for an atipasto/first to 40 for a second. To attend star restaurants for that price I expect dishes that have requested research, creatives, that can amaze and what do I get? Appetizer: scallops on brown background, that is, scallops rested on a slice of smooth potato that navigates in a brodino (the brown bottom) very unmangiable salt. Note, sent back the dish, unpaid, with the justification of the owner who in the kitchen the salt can escape. Not in a 30 euro dish, I could accept it in a country trattoria that provides meals at noon for those who work. Second: I do not remember that fish was to the vernaccia, served in this case without salt accompanied by boiled vegetables (soils and carrots I believe) thrown into the dish and bewildered, sincerely at my house hanging better and I do not present a dish like that even in the canteen I find it. Accessible for a 40 euro dish. In this case, wrong, I didn't say anything, but my partner wanted to get up and leave. I wonder how there may be positive reviews, I frequent starred restaurants between lombardia, Piedmont, Liguria and Emilia and anyway Michelin guide restaurants, but something like that never happened to me. Have I ordered the wrong dishes? Are they better with meat? I don't know, but in any case for 40 euros of dishes so they don't have to go to the table.
A place that makes you appreciate when you cross the entrance threshold, with the owners ready to welcome you and accompany you to the table. Class restaurant, in every sense. Starry food, impeccable service and at the same time discreet. Try homemade ice cream
I like to get back to the Cassinino on special occasions. I was celebrating my son's maturity today. This restaurant never disappoints me for the warm and welcoming service of Mr Augustine and his son Stefano, for the quality of the food and wine that is located. The dishes chosen (different every day are cooked at the moment and the freshness of the raw material is a delight for the palate. The wine that was proposed to me, as already happened the previous times, was of excellent quality, proof both that unlike other restaurants where even a single glass gives me to the head, I can drink a whole bottle without having postures. This is synonymous with the fact that there are no unhealthy additives. An environment so cozy, polite, quiet with raw materials to eat and drink of excellent quality. For those who have written reviews complaining of the price I answer that you must evaluate the value for money absolutely superior to many other restaurants that make pay much less but then leave a difficult digestion and headache for the drunk wine. It is not a place for everyone, it is a place for those who want to eat and drink well, without having slow digestion postures or drowsiness for the wine, it is a place for those who want to eat in tranquility, away from the noise of the crowded premises knowing to pay the right (securely more than other locals, let us remember however that now also go to the pizzeria you do not spend less than 25-30 euros per head! for an excellent quality of food and wine and a service that pampers you with grace. Congratulations to the whole family Cremonesi!!! I'll definitely come back.
On the way to Pavia I stopped at the Cassinino one Saturday at lunch, I am greeted by the patron, that when I enter my team from head to foot and, before making myself sit, tells me that first you have to read the menu because the prices are not for everyone. Let's start badly. The place is deserted, at 13.15 am I the only customer. Very elegant environment, a little retro, but certainly pleasant and welcoming, the mise en place is just as elegant. The menu presents a selection of fish and meat proposals that satisfy all palates, raw material of excellent quality, well worked, well cooked and well presented. Wine map limited to twenty labels, but the owner's availability to show the wine cellar where many other bottles are located. I tasted the oysters (6x50€ , an excellent long pasta with the toasts, and a fillet of fish to the vernaccia (first and second , average price € 30 each. In summary, high prices compared to the food served, you also pay the environment. Too bad for the unholy welcome and service.
