I think this restaurant deserves more coverage than many other eateries. We ate here three times in a week since nowhere else met our expectations. The owner was there each visit, and just as nice as the first time. We had very good service as well. The Tarasca and Tlalpeno soups were excellent. What User doesn't like about Restaurante Don Rafa:
Don Rafa's was recommended by friends for their local white fish speciality, the portions were indeed generous. We were greeted by the owner, La Doctora, on arrival. This is a nice little place just half a block from the main square. The service is very nice and very fast. I liked to offer a daily menu with lots of food and a good price. I had a few moles of Enchiladas and Sopa Tarasca. They gave us a complementary tequila shot. This restaurant reminded me of the places my father took me earlier when I was little.
I love coming here for breakfast. They had fresh papaya and fruit and delicious eggs and hotcakes and amazing hot chocolate. The staff was always very friendly and welcoming and the service and prices were good.
We had a fixed meal and an ala carte entree. The tarasca soup was well and better placed by a splash of mild salsa on the table. The sweet Tamale with white sauce came next and was a beautiful second course. The mole of Enchilada came with beans and a small salad. The flan was delicious. The baked chicken breast was delicious. We received a complementary recording of Tequila. The food arrived fast. Very hard place to eat. You have no wine.
