Contribute FeedbackWe choose this place for the last dinner of our family/friends vacation. The place seemed really nice and refined from the pictures on the Internet. It went really well in the very beginning. The seafood starters and appetizers were excellent. The ambient was cozy and stylish. Then I asked to bring a water bowl for our dog and they brought it empty with no water, simply a bowl. Then 3 of us had to taste the wine from the same glass because they just didn’t bring glasses for everyone (the wine was good, though). When it came to the second courses, half of the food was overcooked or even burnt. In spite of that we didn’t get any compensation or compliments as an excuse. A cherry on top was an extra bottle of wine from the other table, put into our HANDWRITTEN bill. We were lucky we checked it. I have to admit that at the end of the night the restaurant was full and they had a really busy night. A great pity.. This place could work out really great with a good management and better trained/motivated staff. Also the quality of raw seafood is absolutely excellent there. Keep your staff more focused guys...
We came here based on the consistently great reviews, and were extremely disappointed. I hope we came here on an off night, but this was by far the worst meal I’ve ever had in Italy, and was definitely not worth the price, particularly in Puglia. We ordered the crudo, the tuna, and the seafood pasta. With the crudo, the oysters weren’t shucked properly (there were large broken pieces of shell in each one), and the tuna was bitter. The cooked tuna had the same bitter taste, and the two pieces were cooked inconsistently (the first was seared, and the second was hammered). The pasta was muddy and unremarkable, with pieces of over cooked seafood. The ambiance was also lacking; the TV was playing soccer on one side, and pop music was playing on the other. Overall, I felt like I was having a bad meal at a subpar hotel restaurant in the States.
Staying at Ruri Pulcra was a great experience, Rino, Allesandro and everyone there were very friendly, and I feel like I was looked after. Great hotel!

Rino used to own Clipper, an open air restaurant a few hundred meters from Ruri Pulcra. He is now concentrating his vast skills at this beautifully restored Masseria. His food is prepared simply, like all best foods, the ingredients very fresh, especially the fish, but whatever he does it has the authenticity of his heart. Prices are modest, this could be double and still good value, try any risotto, any fish, steak (if you must) and heavenly frittes........and after trying everything make sure you have enough space for a Finocchietto a liqueur prepared by Antonella who will advise you what to eat and what to drink. This is food not just to enjoy but to treasure.
