What User doesn't like about La Merced:
I don't even want to give the place one star. Perhaps their dine in service is better but DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY! We ordered pizza for delivery, half Hawaiian half veggie. The veggie had no sauce or cheese on it and the Hawaiian had canned pineapple and way too much cheese and not enough ham. The pizza was also doughy, lukewarm and for being five blocks away the delivery took an hour and a half. We expected a bit high... View all feedback.
We were led here by our hotel and said it was the best place in this part of the city. We enjoyed it. The menu is huge, we have found many local and international possibilities. We had both the cazuela de frijoles (a kind of bean stew) served with rice and avocado. Delicious! Service was excellent.
We ate dinner here on arrival in Pasto. The food was just as good as formal restaurants. This is also a good place for snacks.
The restau has a wide selection of dishes and is generally delicious. Although sometimes a little can be overfilled
La Merced is a small restaurant/bakery chain in Pasto, and a good quick stop for us (twice, actually on an overnight on the way to Ecuador. The bakery is at the front, and smells so wonderful you'll want to walk in just for the aroma. A security guard seemed to also act as a greeter, which was a nice touch. The waiters and other staff are amiable, though not always quick once you've given your order. The menu is extensive, and as a vegetarian I didn't have any problem. In fact, they prepared a vegetarian canzone for me, even though it wasn't on the menu, and it was delicious! That was lunch. The next morning before the early bus to the frontier, we had breakfast, which was great. The breads are fresh (obviously! and better than average. The mora (raspberry jam was super. Comforting too, was the sight of all the white clad bakers and assistants rushing around with trays of just baked goods white gowns, face masks and hair covers they take sanitation seriously at La Merced! Go. Enjoy.
