Best damn tacos and salsa! owner is super friendly :
The service was ok. It was lunch time, 1pm, on a Saturday, the place was empty, this should be the first sign that the place wasn't that good. While we waited to decide what to eat, we nibbled on chips and salsa, the salsa not spicy, with a name like Jalapeño City, you would expect a little heat. While we looked over the menu, we noticed it was pricey for the location and atmosphere (torn seats and not that nice of a decor). I ordered Chile Verde, another order a burrito and another person ordered Menudo. None of us liked our meals. The rice was dry, the beans were ok. The sauce in the Chili Verde seemed like it came out of a can, no flavor. I will not return. I am not sure who these other people are who give it positive reviews. They must not have any taste buds.
The food is good, what I like is the taste of the meat for the head tacos, it tastes very good, it doesn't taste like old meat like in other places, the man of this taqueria found a way to eliminate that horrible taste, the service is more or less because the place is very small and sometimes you arrive and there is nowhere to sit and for health and hygiene due to the COVID I better not go in when it is like this since the people who mostly attend on weekends do not use face masks despite Being crowded at the tables may not give them an idea that it is not right because most of them are people belonging to a very beautiful part of Mexico where a language of the community is still preserved, rather a dialect, I mean Oaxaca how beautiful of them who live or meet many of them in certain places
Great service, clean little Restaurant. With that said the Shrimp cocktail/Ceviche with Oysters wasn't up to par. The Ceviche I actually enjoyed, however the shrimp on the rim of the glass were spongy and extremely dried out. The oysters weren't great. Chips and salsa were good and the Guy helping us was super enjoyable! I'd give them another try and explore the menu a bit. Overall I was happy with the service and hope to be pleasantly surprised the next go around.
Great flavors and service with a neighborhood feel.
