Their ta... read more Three years after my initial visit (and review), I still believe this winery deserves every one of its five stars. First of all, be sure to call ahead. Their tasting hours are very limited, so it’s wise to reach out to Judy by phone or email. Additionally, if you’re visiting toward the end of the season, from July to Harvest, many of the wines may be sold out. The very limited production of Starr Ranch Wines makes joining the wine club a great decision! Don’t miss the dried persimmons; even if you’re not a fan of persimmons, you will love these—like a delightful fruit leather. And they grow them right on the property! Our group was fortunate to snag the last bags! Of course, the real highlight of Starr Ranch is Judy. She is wonderfully welcoming and an absolute delight to be around.
