What android 647 doesn't like about El Dorado Pollos A La Brasa:
TLDR: felt ripped off with small portion sizes. Stay away! Been all over USA been to so many restaurants and this is my review based on comparing it with many other restaurants I have been to Ordered a steak and chicken dish. It was mostly cheap carbs (soggy chips and mediocre noodles) and few pieces of meat. There are better places out there. Never visiting this restaurant again. View all feedback.
OMG this place is amazing Peruvian food. THE BEST so far in LA area. I have tried several since moving here and found the gem. Nice outdoor dining. Our new to-go Peruvian spot.
Just 2 things you have to remember:CHICKEN YUCCA FRIESThis spot has its own parking lot so it's pretty convenient. It has a cute indoor and outdoor area where you can eat but not a lot of tables. I usually take it to-go.First off, the service is GREAT. They always have the food ready with abundant sauces ready to go. The staff is always smiling and happy to greet customers and just laugh with them.Next, the food: the chicken is very well seasoned and sometimes it can be a little on the salty side but nothing a little of their seasoned rice can't fix ? you can order combos with chicken and sides or just order the whole chicken by itself. The green sauce they give has a great kick to it but goes so well with the chicken. The rice definitely has a subtle but delicious flavor, which i love. It's almost a buttery kind of hint so why wouldn't I love it.Moving onto the sides!! Honestly I've only tried their yucca fries and.... I will always only get the yucca fries. They have to be eating right away to get the full experience of crispness on the outside and soft chewiness on the inside. Just pure deliciousness.Definitely give this spot a try. It'll be worth it.
I can pretty much resonate with a 2-star reviewer here called ToomanyJ’s or something.Yes, the green avocado sauce is heavy lifting. Without it everything is bland. His description of the food is totally right even tho we ordered differently. The entree plate, is nothing special but very small portion on protein. The steak is plain and blandish very poorly made. However this is not the reason I gave it 1-star, if the food is blandish but their portion is big it’s still acceptable but this, a thin piece of steak with no flavor except salt and pepper, the rest of the plate is just carbs, rice and fried potatoes. I wonder what’s the leverage point of such dish ? If there anything that can stand out that would attract me to come back ? Everything is cheap and doesn’t require much effort and skills. It’s like some food you prepare for yourself at home. If nothing stands out then the whole dish is a failure
If you haven't had Peruvian food, this is the place to try. If you haven't, this is better than where you have! Hah, seriously though, the service and the food are incredible.Lomo saltado is amazing and their wood fire chicken is delicious.Peter Parker (worker or maybe the owner) is the man! Thank you guys.
I've been on a Peruvian food kick recently and saw this spot in Pasadena. I got the tallarin saltado and 1/4 chicken with rice and salad. Tallarin Saltado: My go-to order- stir-fried pesto noodles and sirloin steak. Delicious and satisfying.1/4 chicken: The most flavorful, tender, and moist chicken. The meat was delicious and the side of sauces paired deliciously with the chicken and rice. Also, the garden side salad is refreshing and the sweet vinaigrette it comes with is incredible. I definitely recommend this spot and will be back again. If you are curious about Peruvian cuisine, you won't be disappointed by El Dorado.
