**A Mixed Bag at Der Wolf: A Review of the Vibe, Food, and Experience**

Der Wolf presents an eclectic mix of experiences, from lively atmospheres and delicious food to disappointing service issues. While patrons rave about the vibrant setting, including live music and unique events, concerns linger over inconsistent service and food preparation. The "average" drinks do not overshadow the potential for a fun outing, but issues like slow service and unexpected menu shortages dampen the experience. Despite these drawbacks, many visitors appreciate the casual vibe, solid food options, and engaging entertainment, making it a place to consider for a lively gathering with friends.

This place is all but good times. Had a work party there and had so much fun. Was able to enjoy not only the drinks but also watching the Dodger game. If you are in this area you need to stop by and have a good time. Will definitely come back for somemore fun.

I really want to give this like 3.5 stars but I'll round up LoL Service was horrible on this one particular Sunday. It was around noon and not even busy (although there was a football game on . Initial service was great but as soon as the waitresstook our drink order (WATER..... not even liquor yet! We had to flag someone down EVERYTIME we needed something cocktails, refills, order food. Then the food took forever to come out and on top of that it wasn't even hot. Only reason I have it 3 starswas because I actually enjoyed my chilaquiles (one of my favorite foods even tho they were a lil cold getting to the table. I'mlikely to give it another try sometime far in the future because the food is actually quite good. Just gotta work on their tableservice. But management didn't hesitate to accommodate so we were alright in the end.

I'm not much of a drinker but the atmosphere there is very chill. From what I heard... They mainly serve draft beers, no hard licors and some seltzers. My bf paid $28 for two draft beers and one seltzer. They had three live bands and that day.. theydidn't have a cover charge.

The drinks here are average for what you'd expect at a bar. I do recommend the sour wolf. Why 2 stars? There was a sewage smell that enveloped the entire bar. It really ruined the experience and caused me to close my tab after 1 drink. TLDR- Drinks wereaverage, off-putting sewage smell.

This place is all about good vibes. I had a work party here and had a blast. Not only did I enjoy the drinks, but I was also able to catch the Dodger game. If you're in the area, you absolutely have to stop by and have a great time. I will definitely be coming back for more fun!

I experienced the worst service ever at Der Wolf. The bartender seemed utterly out of it at 11:30 AM on a Monday. We decided to sit at the bar and ended up leaving after waiting an hour for our food. We were informed that the kitchen was so far behind that they couldn't even track our order. It may have been just a rough day, but it was genuinely disappointing.

We made reservations for January 1, knowing it would be a hectic day. However, we waited over 30 minutes without being acknowledged by our waitress. We ended up having to get our own drinks from the bar, and our food never came. It was evident that they were unprepared and not sufficiently staffed for their January 1 opening.

We visited Der Wolf during our trip for a game and placed a food order, but after waiting an hour, our meal never arrived. Regrettably, we had to leave without dining. The server was trying their best to help us, but unfortunately, things just didn’t go as planned.

We had a great time at Der Wolf! It was packed due to the Rose Bowl, but the staff did an excellent job managing everything. We really enjoyed ourselves, and the staff was incredibly friendly!

I had a fantastic experience at Der Wolf! The food was delicious, the music created a great atmosphere, and the staff was attentive without being intrusive. The drinks were reasonably priced and had a good kick. My burger was cooked to perfection, and my partner's chicken was exceptionally sliced, cooked, and seasoned. Hats off to the kitchen! I couldn't have chosen a better spot for our date night. Thank you once again!

This place is truly a great spot to have fun! It has a vibrant atmosphere with three distinct areas that suit different moods. There's the main area where live bands perform, an underground bar and dimly lit space featuring DJs, and a cozy outdoor patio in the back where my boyfriend and I enjoyed an unexpected fire dancer performance a few months ago. The food is delicious, and the drinks are strong! It's an excellent venue for a group of friends to enjoy on the weekend.

What a fantastic little place! It felt like I was on the set of Game of Thrones! Haha, the beer was great, and Monday nights with Caltech Astronomy always bring a full crowd. I’ll definitely be back!

Came here on a Sunday night after the rehearsal and we wanted a place to eat and drink. This place was so cool and the mood was so intimate and yet alive. They had a beer pong table, connect four and a Jumbo Jenga game all set up. And the music was blasted quite loud there, so it was pretty hard to talk to my friends there. But service was really fast as it wasn't super busy and the bartender was super nice and attentive. I tried the Wolf Burger Fritten and it was pretty good. My friends tried the Asada Pommes, Burrito and perpetrators. We all felt like it was his job to satisfy our hungry bells. Would definitely recommend playing here for the Vibes some games with drinks!

This food was sooo good!!! I have Chilequiles, (it came with rice and beans) and the mimosa flight. The Chilequiles were a little sharp, but I like spices. The Mimosa flight was interesting. That had the traditions, orange and cranberry, and also had a blue curacao, and a violet that were not my favorite, but not bad. I would recommend for brunch and games.

This place is NOT the cold German pub it was before pandemic. My friends and I came to Old Town Pasadena once in a while, and that was our favorite dinner stop. The most German menu was good, especially the sausage plate, and the most German beer selection was great, with some things I had never seen at Red Lion. They even had the occasional jazz combination on the weekend. The main room was quite open, with long tables that could accommodate larger parties, so it was a nice place to have a birthday meeting with a larger group that would have an indefinite number of people who come in and out all night without making any special reservations. It was the last place where my friend had a birthday party before the pandemic meeting, and now that larger group meetings begin to come back, he decided to bring his birthday back here so that it would feel like we were picking up where things were gone. When the first wave of people arrived, in the early Saturday evening, the music in the main room was too loud for conversations and refreshments. So they walked into the empty back terrace. I came, looked attentive, and the manager was nice enough to let me know that the big party was out. Apparently the terrace was technically closed, although, despite not physically blocked. A server asked us to stop ordering food because they can't have servers taking things all the way there. The manager came out and asked how many more people would come (we didn't know my friend invited only a few people to show up whenever, provided that was still a casual pub atmosphere. He let us know he'd put our party in the cellar sometime, but it wasn't open yet. So we just waited to be able to order food again, while MULTIPLE security people hung around to keep an eye on us. (We are a bunch of non-threatening Nerds, and I think that's pretty obvious to most people. The bartenders were nice, but they only had two German beers on the tap list, and they were both because of St. Patrick's Day in the night before. (Who were the only empty kegs that might say something about what the client wants? Most of the remaining fittings were the same old generic decisions (oh goody, 805! Beer for people who don't love beer. The bartender managed to find me and my friend, the last two bottles of German beer that they had thrown away in the refrigerator, so I made sure to tap more than 20% at the end of the night. They finally left us in the basement (formerly The Rathskeller, now THE DUNGEON PASADENA). I ordered a sausage plate, which was one of perhaps 2 3 German articles left on the menu. It tasted pretty good even if they forget to give me mustard, or a knife to cut the sausage. At one point, I ventured up to use the toilet room and close my tab, and a DJ was BLASTING Reggaeton at random, concerted volume. I'm old now, and I needed earplugs to be in it for more than five minutes. No one danced (not really a dance floor, no one spoke (they couldn't hear each other, and there were more men than women. Oh, and security everywhere. I can't rely on the post pandemic viability of their old business model (which I loved! , but her new tried nightclub seems pretty angry. More people finally found their way down where we went because the levels of music were much more beneficial for actual socialization. What I don't understand is if The Wolf no longer wants to be a German pub with a cool, inviting neighborhood Vibe (despite having a GREAT room for a pub! ... why are they still called The Wolf? If their new business model is to try to sell crappy beer and overpriced tequila at 20 some bros in a nightclub atmosphere, why not a FULL rebrand, so people who are looking for the old The Wolf know that they will absolutely not find it? This version feels like the place

Very interesting place. Had a great time. I had a few drinks on the ground floor. The main floor was more like a typical bar. But then the pace changed by going to the basement. The basement was very original and much more personal. There were also a few drinks. Service was good. I tried a lot of things. I want to go back.
