The set lunch menu at €10 or €11.50 including wine for four courses is without doubt the best value in Parthenay. There is always a great choice of good quality freshly prepared food. I eat here at least once a week. Fabulous. In the summer there is a large terrace View all feedback.
A really nice wood cooked grillade served on the terrace of this atmospheric and friendly traditional French restaurant. Highly recommended, although sadly you will have to wait until next year to try, as it is only served on Friday and Saturday evenings in July and August. The rest of the year, the restaurant only opens at lunchtime. Not sampled that, so shouldn't really comment. But the row of workmen's vans in the car park at noon bodes well.
First of all we booked in advance as this place can get quite popular in advance, and we were visitin on recommendation. The place has a rural feel to it even though it's in Parthenay. The owners are welcomign and friendly, and sat us down in the restaurant section which has around 10-12 tables. The menu is a typical "menu du jour" style on the blackboard where you have three of four options for home-made starters and main courses; on the day we went there was pasta and pâté fro starters plus chicken, steak or fish for mains. Everybody chose differently and all found the portions plentiful, tasty and filling. Then there's the large cheeseboard selection, followed again by a choice of desserts. Although off the main road, this place is worth finding for traditional French fayre. We went with our 4 year old son who enjoyed the same food as the adults! And price was a bargain - standard menu was 10€50 for 4 courses (without drinks.)
Maybe not the most extensive menu but very good value and really friendly atmosphere. This is a family run restaurant and both the husband
We booked this restaurant for the evening to celebrate a special occassion. We had the whole restaurant for our party of 34 guests. We had a fantastic meal that was beautifully presented espicially the way the two desserts had been personalised with beautiful marzipan designs. We highly recommended the Bergerie as a place for large groups as well as a very good quality everyday lunchtime restaurant. It has an excellent chef who serves freshly cooked quality food at reasonable prices
