Description

Gators in Parsons dishes up hearty Southern classics with generous portions — think catfish, ribeye specials and oversized burgers — and standout, speedy lunch plates. Diners praise friendly staff and solid value at lunch, but experiences vary: reports cite billing errors, changed specials, inaccurate hours and uneven dinner quality (watery sauces, overcooked sides). Prices feel reasonable for large portions, though some find dinner pricey. A welcoming neighborhood spot best tried for lunch; expect inconsistent service and food at dinner.

The food was decent, but the portion sizes could be larger. The $7.99 gator bites were quite small.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. Our waitress checked us out at night and changed the dinner special after we had already placed our orders, resulting in higher charges for us. Although we ordered the same meal on separate tickets, one ticket ended up being double the price of the other. She also forgot to add an item to one of the tickets, which led to three separate transactions. Overall, the prices were high and the customer service was terrible. I know people who frequently eat at this restaurant and work at Gators, and I will make sure to share my experience with them. We will not be returning, and I'm very upset about the situation. I will also be posting about this publicly.

I feel compelled to share my experience at Gators in Parsons, as it was quite disappointing. We encountered terrible service during our visit. The restaurant changed their special between the time we arrived, sat down, and placed our orders, which resulted in a price increase. We requested separate checks for our meal. While we ordered similar items, the addition of a $4.99 kids' meal and a $7.99 chicken sandwich led to a bill of over $13 (plus tax), while our total ended up being more than double that of the other table. We spent over $50 for our two orders, while the other table only paid $35. I typically don’t voice my dissatisfaction publicly, especially since I have friends who dine there regularly and know some of the staff. However, this was meant to be a special birthday dinner, and I left feeling very dissatisfied.

New to the area and found this via google. Reviews looked good and we were hungry. It was great, hubby had a huge (small) catfish plate with all of the fixin's and I have a cheeseburger and fries. I should have taken a photo, it would barely fit in my mouth. The single burger is 1/2 lb. Very reasonable, got stuffed on $20 bucks. Thanks James (owner) we will be back!
