Fabio Romani is a fabulous (no pun intended) chef and... read more My family and the family of our Italian exchange student went to Ristorante Romani for a fabulous dinner. Fabio Romani is a fabulous (no pun intended) chef and his restaurant is beautiful. The meal consisted of local culatello, salami, prosciutto, mortadella and other meats. We had various first courses which were all superb. As were our second courses. Fabio and his staff were charming and informative. Don't miss this restaurant. Maybe a little difficult to find but all gems are.

The food was exellent, local tastes, heavenly pastas and meat, as well as the local wine, lambrusco. Nice attentive waiter, charming 'football suporter room '. Slow food partners.

The restaurant is in a lovely country setting and inside the buiodling is still devided into individual rooms, giving it a nice intimate feel. The waiter was very friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. We had salumi misti with torta fritte, followed by pasta primi and my wife said her tortelli were oustanding. The portions were generous so we skimmed main courses and had a couple of deserts instead. All washed down with water a half bottle of red. The bill came to, a very reasonable, €55. We will definitely be going back.

We were well received by the waiter and there was several other guests on this Saturday evening, but we were not really impressed by the food. My wife took the buffet with many small good tasting dishes, while I took a steak with grilled vegetables. There are not many choices and that is one of the things I like the least with the local Parma kitchen. Few choices and very conservative choices with 4 'contorni ' which should match all the dishes, but do not for real match any of the dishes. The steak was ok but with little taste. The wine was good and the prize for the meal too.
