My husband & I took his parents here to celebrate their 44th Anniversary. Was a great beautiful sunny day. We ate outside on top of the building on the "deck". There was a gentleman playing his guitar and singing which was great and made a perfect mood setter! Nice area, great view and they have a full bar & menu.Recommend highly!Enjoy! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Upper Deck Sports Bar:
For a so called Sports Bar, it leaves a lot to be desired. I have been coming here for 30 years to have a drink after squash and they still have the usual Big Brewery swill on tap. How about some craft brews? View all feedback.
We never did sample the food…we were sat down with menus but ignored for 10 minutes…the place was 80% or more empty.. I almost got up to get some water myself but my wife said “Let’s go somewhere else”. The prices aren’t cheap…zero service…staff chatting in the Center area and the one server who came to check on the table next to us did glance at us …but that's as close as we got to any recognition.. No … we won't back…instead we went to Kalvas for some fresh Halibut (4.5/5)
The restaurant looks like it’s been updated inside, like the rest of the lobby of the hotel. The restaurant and the patio have beautiful views of the ocean. The patios are pet friendly, which is absolutely great for the summer season. I ordered the New York Striploin. It came with fingerling Potatoes and seasonal Vegetables. The meal came fairly soon after ordering. It was well plated. The 10oz Steak was grilled medium, as ordered. It was nicely seasoned, tender and flavourful. It wasn’t the best Steak I’ve had, but it wasn’t bad. As far as higher end dining, the Steak was average. The Red Wine Demi-Glacé was subtle and didn’t really add much flavour to the Steak. The fingerling Potatoes and seasonal Vegetables were nicely cooked. The meal was decent and made much more enjoyable because of the ocean views. The service was ok. Clean cloth napkins and the Steak knives put on a plate or napkin, instead of just being put down on a dusty outdoor table would have been appreciated. These simple details should be commonplace and customers should not have to point this out to servers. Prices were reasonable and we will be back to enjoy the ocean views and other menu items.
Being a fairly frequent visitor to this restaurant, for Monday, May 15th I had no hesitation in booking dinner for my wife and I to celebrate my birthday here after all I had celebrated her own here only eight days previously. The result last night? The food was poor and not served hot dirty soup plates were not cleared before my main course appeared with congealed gravy around the edge of the plate. My wife's rocket salad had 95% rocket and very little else added except the piece of chicken! I think the chef should be disgusted with the quality of the steak he served me up! Service was shocking and we decided to leave before we discovered what other poor quality surprises were in store (The previous week on arrival we had been asked if we were celebrating any special event something I had mentioned this time at the time of booking servers need to be taught consistency in their training! On paying the bill my wife mentioned the poor quality of my meal and the server immediately reduced the amount by $5 not very professional in any quality restaurant! (perhaps I should have complained about the way my first course was slopped down in front of us too! No, I will not be returning in a hurry and will cerain share my experiences with my friends here in QB Diners beware!!!!!!!!!
We recently had a fantastic dining experience at The Bayside. Our server Hailey was incredibly friendly and attentive, making our meal even more enjoyable. The food was delicious and the stunning view just added to the overall experience. Thank you once again, we will definitely be returning in the future!
We have visited the Bayside Restaurant Lounge three times in the past three months and every time has been fantastic! Our first visit was on a Friday evening with a large group. We enjoyed live music by the talented pianist/singer Sarah Wood while we dined. Ian, our server, was very knowledgeable about wine and made excellent pairings. All 16 of us loved our meals and some of us also indulged in delicious desserts. Our other two visits were with smaller groups and we received personalized and friendly service each time. The food was consistently excellent. During a special anniversary celebration at our table, the server happily took photos for us and surprised us with a special anniversary dessert. The Bayside Restaurant has become our preferred spot for special meals with friends. The menu offers a wide variety of choices and the staff are attentive to accommodating food allergies.
