Kalvas Restaurant - Parksville

The food at this restaurant is consistently excellent, but the prices have become exorbitant. $18 for a bowl of chowder, $43 for an 8oz prime rib dinner, $15 for a small slice of tiramisu, $14.50 for a glass of wine, $4.50 for a glass of fountain Pepsi. While I understand that food prices have increased, these recent hikes are unreasonable. This may be our last visit for a while as the food, while good, is not worth the high prices.

We went with friends for my Birthday yesterday May 4/23. We had a drink and the Shrimp Scallop appetizer which was cooked to perfection and very tender. For dinner one had the Lamb Shank which was very delicious tender. I had the Shrimp Scallops done in a very nice sauce .All our vegetables were cooked perfect. Our friends had the Veal Schnitzel and Pork Schnitzel who said it was delicious. One thought the red cabbage was a little too much vinegar. All the meals were served very hot by a excellent lady waitress. Timing between the drink, appetizers and dinner were perfect. An amazing meal we all enjoyed. Will be back soon. Great job!

Always spectacular service! Food is always amazing I like to take a good couple hours on my own here and soak in the service and food/wine! Asked to be moved tonight to a new table due to surrounding table......not a problem!

We had dinner with friends at Kalvas and we all felt well taken care of. The food and staff at this hidden gem in Parksville never disappoint. We wanted to give our guests a great experience in Parksville and Kalvas played a big role in that. The cozy atmosphere, the welcoming staff, and the delicious food always hit the mark. We are frequent visitors to Kalvas and are always pleased with our dining experience.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. It was a Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm. We were promptly greeted upon arrival and seated at our table. Our server, who we later found out was one of the owners, was very friendly and accommodating. Both my wife and I ordered the steak and prawn dinner, with mine being the larger steak. The meals were absolutely incredible! The steak was cooked perfectly and the Demi glaze was the best I've ever had. The prawns were also delicious. The steak, mashed potatoes, and fresh vegetables were the standouts. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing the steak was. The service, drinks, and dessert were also top notch. This was more than just a dinner, it was an exceptional dining experience that even the pickiest eater would enjoy. We will definitely be returning and will be bringing others with us.
