Escala Provisions Co. - Park City

This place definitely deserves more than 3.5 star average. I highly recommended breakfast there if you are staying at Hyatt Centric. Service was good. Waiters are friendly and helpful. Ambiance is superb. Omelettes were delicious. Tasty with right consistency. Potato side was also cooked really well. My hubby loved his huevos rancheros. He said the meat was juicy,tender and flavorful. I would not recommend buffet given very limited selection.

For lunch (before 5pm), we could not have been more pleased. We has the chili which was a big bowl with western chilis in them (a tad spicy, but not too much) and the short rib grilled cheese with sweet potato fries (you can opt for regular as well). The grilled cheese was so good, that we had it 4 times over the week!Server was nice every time, bar selection was very good (they have a couple of High West bottles that we couldn't find elsewhere in town). I don't know about dinner, but you could ski into the ski rental (via the Retreat trail off of the In&Out lift and to the right of the Sunrise lift), take the elevator to 1 and be there for lunch. If the lift isn't working, you can take the shuttle back to the base (runs every 5 min).

Food cold. Waitress brought out the wrong beer and claimed it was all yellow so it was an easy mistake. Overcharged us for a dish. Didn’t know the menu.

The Escala Provisions Co. is a good restaurant/small convenience store in the Hyatt Centric, Park City. It is the only restaurant in the hotel. We enjoyed great breakfasts, drinks at the bar, baked goods, treats, coffee, soda and water bottles. This restaurant will bring your order to your room if requested. The service was great, the staff was professional and attentive and it was clean. Only con is they close relatively early during the weekend.

This hotel restaurant in Canyons surpassed my expectations. If you're in the area, definitely give it a try. If you can't get into Handle or Twisted Fern, this is a great alternative. Don't let previous pandemic reviews deter you - the staff have been wonderful and the chef is fantastic. The duck dish was the best I've ever had, with crispy skin and delicious cherries. The squash risotto was a unique and tasty side. The Bison chili was light, fresh, and full of flavor. The cocktails were creative and well-made. I hope this restaurant gets the recognition it deserves soon.
