That was right opposite our hotel, so we thought we would try. my wife has the duck, my daughter and I have the burger and my youngest salat. all were very good and meat prepared for the right did. we have. for one because enjoy the evening with some drinks and had a nice time overall. our waiter was excellent and committed. I would definitely return.
The restaurant is not far from the pariser theatre district of the grand boulevards, if they have a latic curtain, can be comfortable. eating is quite disappointing. esthetic are not served between appetizer and main with the same fresh small pieces salate and. liquid from tomato on the side. the serving of the magret de canard ente filet was small and asked to be medium rare à pint served the thin discs were dreadfully well made and hard. shocking, when the same red wine was served on two people at our table, the man served first, and the woman was served with the bottom of the bottle, which in fact her glass was only filled about 2/3 3/4. the waitress, did not open any other bottle of wine to fill her glass completely, and so she was whipped out of a part of her weine, and the server knew it, because she took another bottle of wine, hesitated to open it, and then not. I would have ordered a glass. this leads us to a warning before the order of wine through the glass. wein is always better known in the bottle than in glass in most restaurants, with the exception of wine bars and restaurants for their wines. and in small restaurants where the wine is not kept carefully or recycled with a vacuum, they cannot know how long it was opened. I had the bad experience of being served a glass of unimaginable wein from an open bottle. often when I order a bottle in a restaurant with someone who does not drink wine, I will order a bottle and take home what I do not drink, I ask alxways in advance whether I can take home what is left and no restaurant has rejected. they have all recorated the bottle and put in a bag for me. Yes, the bottle is twice as expensive as loading in one, but I'm sure what I drink while I enjoy my meal.
It is about the owner/host of le mastroquet. Make sure to check the chalkboard menu, because there are often other items not on the printed menu. Do not hesitate to ask about what is there. eating was pretty good and cheap.
Le Mastroquet is a pleasant surprise, a terrific little place located off of Rue la Fayette. I came for dinner while on vacation and found both great food and a welcoming atmosphere. I ordered a three course dinner (appetizer, entree, and dessert) that came out...to under 30€. I enjoyed the Croustillant de Chèvre appetizer and the Entrecôte sauce au bleu (steak with blue cheese sauce), which is served with fries and a small salad. The owners were very friendly and made me feel right at home. Le Mastroquet is definitely a place I would visit again.
Very friendly and nice service. Food typical french. My soup (velouté was good but had better, however the main course was very nice. I believe there might be better address for French food in Paris but you get a nice atmosphere and high quality food...for a reasonable price.
