We didn't book but were accommodated (it was a busy Friday evening) on a nice table to the rear of the restaurant. The food was amazing - for example the escargot starter was served in a perfect mix of butter and garlic. As this was our first night we wanted a real experience of Paris dining and feel we got it with Le Petit Bofinger, I felt it had just the right mix of atmosphere and sophistication. What Zelda Funk doesn't like about Le Petit Bofinger:
Astier was closed even though we had a reservation and Bofinger was full so went across the street to Petit Bofinger. Ambiance is nice and menu at 25e was good price. The food was good but not a place to waste a night on in Paris unless it is Sunday. Nice wine choices and good foie gras and the desserts. Good for a Sunday if You are in the Marais View all feedback.
On the next-to-last night in Paris, our family of 3 adults and 2 small children chose this restaurant near the Bastille, within walking distance of our rented ap't. Although air conditioning was advertised on the window outside - and that was a draw b/c of the unseasonable heat wave - it never materialized. We were on the verge of leaving as we waited, but a waiter finally arrived and seated us. At that point, we decided to stay. The 3 adults ordered escargots in a pesto sauce for an appetizer- very tasty - and had fried hake, boeuf tartare, and a pork cutlet as mains. All were good, as was the hamburger and fries split by the 2 children. We had a nice Alsatian white wine and a limonade for the children. The real winner, however, was the delicious crème brulée that the children were to split. The adults all dug in as well, however, and were glad we did. We all wished later that we'd each had our own. Interestingly, once we walked out of the restaurant, we felt a wonderfully cool breeze, and just as predicted, the heat wave had broken. If only the restaurant had had outside tables, we could have enjoyed that fresher air.

We travelled in a large group to this restaurant and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive. I haven’t stopped thinking about the chocolate lava cake since leaving Paris!
We've been eating at bofinger. I've been thinking about trying the little sister. I'm fine. The card's a little smaller, but definitely not less. Just fine.
