My boyfriend took me here for my birthday during a short stay in Paris. We went for the tasting menu which I would highly recommend. Every course tasted amazing and there was clearly so much care taken over the presentation. We also opted for the wine pairing which was matched perfectly. Aside from the amazing food the real stand out was the service, especially from the Restaurant Manager, who really looked after us.... View all feedback.
What Isaac Colas doesn't like about Le Comptoir AG:
This is still a recent restaurant and perhaps things will improve. I really hope so. I will admit that the concept is great and the decoration amazing. It feels cozy inside and it is a pleasure for the eyes. However, I was expecting more from the kitchen. Portions are not even and in my case the steak (which was a beautiful piece of meat) was overcooked - ruined! The staff tries to assist you well but it gets ridicul... View all feedback.
What a pleasant surprise. I skipped eating a sandwich at the gare before my train to stop by this restaurant. Gastronomy at lunch time at a surprisingly affordable price, with mise en bouche and a brioche to dip on olive oil and spices. I only...More
AG restaurant in Les Halles was the best eating I had over my entire three night weekend break. I visited their St Germaine restaurant last year and recall being bowled over, so when I was looking for somewhere to have lunch on a Monday when many restaurants are closed, I immediately recalled that AG are open and inadvertently booked their Les Halles restaurant in error. Although, there was no mistake, far from it. From the moment I entered at midday earlier today, I was treated in a friendly, helpful and professional manner by the two waiters there.Oh, but the food. The food. Warm herbal bread rolls and a delightful amuse bouche opened up the taste buds nicely. My cod and black risotto dish was first class and was cooked perfectly. The cheesecake deserved a standing ovation. The attention to detail, the execution of each course, the lovely waiters have ensured that I will return here on every trip from now on and that's coming from a middle aged woman who has been visiting Paris three times a year since my early twenties. I love Paris and restaurants like AG make me love it even more. €31 for a two course lunch with a delightful glass of Shiraz and coffee was a bargain. What a gastronomic delight!!!! Please do not miss this gem. Put it on your favourites page but sssh keep this secret to yourself.
I were recommended by 'The fork' application and it is surprisingly that it is better than the price. Tasting menu is some kind of French food combine with Japanese taste. The decoration of food is fantastic. Service is good. Love everything here. I had a good night here!
Yes it's true this restaurant had it all in my opinion. Attentive service- Anyone who has traveled to Europe knows, service, while it allows you to enjoy the meal is not always what us impatient Americans like. The service was prompt without rushing. Also, the knowledge of wine/ food pairings was spot on.Pricing- We chose a standard three course meal priced at 39Euro. If we were charged 20 Euro more I would have still said it was a great value. Wines were also reasonably priced tooFood- Fun presentation and quality. The pictures on the website aren't for show, the food really does arrive at your table looking that great. Perfect spot for a date night in an area that can be crowded with tourists.
This was a really enjoyable meal that delivered on all accounts. The premises are nice, the staff friendly and helpful (as well as highly proficient in English). The food tastes as good as it looks, which is saying something. Highly recommended!
