What I liked: Near UNESCO Reasonably priced Staff are nice Food seems authentic; but just average. I have tasted better Chinese food in Paris. For the price, it's worth checking out. 3 stars based on the food.

Came across this restaurant while looking for someplace to eat near my hotel and very happy to have found it. Gastronomie d'Orient rivals Chinese restaurants in New York and Vancouver in terms of quality and authenticity of its food. Owner and staff were friendly and pleasant. Dumplings, Shanghai buns, vegetables, and beef dishes were on par with those served in China. Portions were generous, but not oversized. The food was so good that I returned a second night for dinner. I overhead an older French gentleman praising the owner for the quality of the food, explaining that it was unlike any he had previously eaten in Paris. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area. Also, if you are a fan of Shanghai buns, call ahead to reserve an order since these sell out quickly.

It was pure GOOD FORTUNE to find this restaurant during my holiday in Paris last November, and until today 4 months later, I am still missing it! I googled about it and now I am typing a review! As a Chinese person who has been living in London for 15 years, this is the FIRST time I found a REAL AUTHENTIC Shanghai Suzhou cuisine anywhere in Europe! The wild vegetable Wonton, the fried fish, the ham, pork beancurd soup.. 荠菜大馄饨，松鼠桂鱼，腌笃鲜，my tears almost fell down, this restaurant brings me to the taste of my hometown! I can't recommend it more.. For people who don't know anything about Shanghai Cuisine, I suggest you ask for recommendations by the restaurant owner, and you won't be disappointed. This restaurant actually makes me want to move to Paris!

Excellent small restaurant, delicious dishes and a great kindness. The prices are quite reasonable, especially with the reduction of "the Fourchette".Very quiet at night. We'll be back soon.

Dishes that are not often found in Asian restaurants (tripes of beef, beef with cabbage and tofu.) the decor is summarized but the welcome is very friendly.
