Vin Et Whisky Maison Claudel - Paris

I am a neighborhood regular and blessed to have a place like this on my doorstep. Much has been said in the comments, but where this place stands out is their extensive selection of whisky (300 advertised, but for the sakes of transparency I haven't counted them myself! and since they double as a bar (albeit early closing, it's only a side gig , 80 of them are available for tasting, at a reasonable price (not run of the mill whiskies, so don't expect it to be TOO cheap . This is where I go to stash my whisky cupboard, and will not go anywhere else. The place doesn't pander to the cigar smoking three piece suit in your face luxury crowd, so it's a rather simple and unpretentious affair unlike many of the fine spirits places in fancier parts of Paris. They in fact helped me break the psychological barrier (was mostly a drinker of rum for the aforementioned reasons , so big kudos. The two owners are charmingly helpful and welcoming. Great advice, knowledgeable about their products, and able to steer enthusiasts and newcomers to the right bottle. I much appreciate the fact that many of the bottles are available for free sampling if you intend to buy. Fantastic for those in the process of discovery or wanting to try something new I am near certain this is the only place in Paris that does this, or at least the only place with such an extensive selection (some smaller affairs also have tasting bottles, but alas they also have more narrow selections . Have bought whiskies I wouldn't have purchased otherwise, and avoided bottles I intended to buy that weren't what I expected. Conclusion great place for a quick drink or for a purchase. They cover the full range of prices (wine bottles start at about 6e, whisky at about 25e note that these prices are for purchases, not the bar , and prices on more expensive bottles are very reasonable : no unfair markups here.

We stopped by here as part of our food tour, right at the end to sit and enjoy all the food we had bought with some amazing French wines that the lady who runs this place provided! We loved our time spent here and will definitely go back!

I came for an introduction to Japanese whiskey tasting and it’s a big YES! The welcome from Michelle, Charles and Frédéric is of a kindness and benevolence that warms the heart. The store is sublime and the catalog is even more so! As for the tasting, Frédéric took care of it extremely well, explaining the history of the whiskey to us until its tasting, everything was perfect (not counting his culinary talents). Thank you again and it is with great pleasure that I will return accompanied to your store.

Truly the best whiskey store in Paris, huge choice and the boss, Frédéric, is passionate! It also offers whiskey tastings! Much better than the posh and prout-prout whiskey cellars in other districts!
