Located just a short distance from Canal Saint-Martin, this dining venue, pioneered by chef Ryo Miyazaki, showcases a unique blend of French and Japanese fusion cuisine. We had secured a reservation for a Monday at 8:30 p.m. As we walked in, we received a warm greeting and were escorted to a table in the rear section of the restaurant, which featured dark lighting and was decorated with purple sofas and chairs. The restaurant itself comprises three distinct dining areas. We opted for the Prestige menu, which included an appetizer, three starters, a lobster course, a meat dish, a pre-dessert, and a dessert. Since we were the last guests to arrive, with most others already progressing to their main courses, the staff aimed to expedite our dining experience. Consequently, the appetizer and starters were served rapidly; we had yet to finish one dish before the next arrived. Realizing the hurried pace, we voiced our concern, and although the staff did adjust, the service pace remained high. The speed at which the courses were served left little room to enjoy the meal, and we felt quickly satiated due to insufficient breaks between dishes. While the dishes were artfully crafted, featuring high-quality ingredients and intricate techniques, we found the menu somewhat overpriced, particularly given the relative simplicity of the dishes and the absence of a standout wow factor. The staff, however, was undeniably hospitable, friendly, and committed to service excellence. To summarize, while the food quality was commendable, the rapid service detracted from the overall dining experience. By the time we reached the lobster course, we were already full, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the meal fully. This rushed experience seemed at odds with the restaurant 's desired image and the premium prices they charged.
Cosy restaurant in an interesting area. Friendly helpful staff. Ethan was a gem. Enjoyable night with great food and wine. Will visit again the next time I’m in Paris.
